Who do you think Gore will support?
My guess is that Gore is not going to enter the race. Wish he would, but at this point I do not think so.

Will he support a candidate? If so who? I am hoping for Edwards.

1. If he doesn't run
I do not believe there is a chance in hell that he would endorse johnnyboy.

climate change plan. Dodd, Biden and Kucinich have impressive plans but they don't go far enough.

I doubt he will endorse anyone at this point. AND, I don't count him out from running still in 2008.

edit: syntax... brain too tired to speak in native tongue apparently.

6. Let's see what happens in NH if
Gore and Schwartzenegger pull together the climate crisis forum with all the candidates. I would venture to guess none of the candidates would be too anxious to attend, given that Al probably wouldn't let them get away with slick talking points that skirt the issue. That would be one forum I wouldn't miss.

As to who he'd endorse? Don't know, but I'd doubt it would be Edwards. He'd probably opt for someone with a record of accomplishments, rather than just good campaign skills. (Of course, if Edwards wins the nomination, I'll vote for him, but he's at the bottom of my list of dems.)

8. Edwards I hope.
Edited on Wed Dec-05-07 12:47 PM by Duncan
His platform is all about getting rid of corporate control over our government, which is essential in the struggle against global warming.

The League of Conservation Voters describes Edwards' plan as the "most comprehensive global warming plan of any presidential candidate to date."

Edwards:
"If we don't act now, it will be too late. Our generation must be the one that says 'yes' to alternative, renewable fuels and ends forever our dependence on foreign oil. Our generation must be the one that accepts responsibility for conserving natural resources and demands the tools to do it. And our generation must be the one that builds the New Energy Economy. It won't be easy, but it is time to ask the American people to be patriotic about something other than war."

I question any assertion that he has a weaker environmental record than any other candidate, except perhaps DK.

Edwards also has the best chance of winning the general election.

Gore-Kucinich was my hope, now its Edwards-Kucinich.

I don't hear anything from Obama or Clinton that makes me think they would do much.

Your post and the OP are not totally valid in this forum. Otherwise, the name of this forum would be the johnnyboy forum, which clearly, you can see that is not the case.

Am I the only one bothered by posters bringing their candidates into Al Gore's forum?

I will fully admit I am not, nor will I ever be a supporter of johnnyboy. But, you will never see me in his forum.

If you feel so strongly anti "Johnyboy" why don't you explain why, you might sway me if you said something with some substance.

18. Discussion forums ARE for discussions.
The General Discussion forum is where one might go to tout for Edwards, or even the Edwards Forum. If I wanted to discuss Edwards, that's where I'd go. The Al Gore forum is for discussions about -- surprisingly enough -- Al Gore.

I guess I just don't understand the fine dividing lines like you do.

20. The dividing lines?
WTF?

The concept is quite simple.

There is a separate forum for each presidential candidate. You can tell which is which by the NAME of the forum.

An example:

The Obama Supporter forum is for.................. Obama supporters!

In case you have trouble w/the word "supporter", it means someone that supports the candidate in that forum. Supporters go to the forum for the candidate that want to win the primary.

Questions about who Al Gore may or may not endorse belong in the GD: Politics forum.

THEY DO NOT BELONG HERE!

Get it now?

25. What is wrong with you?
This was about Gore.

Some of you seem to have tunnel vision. Are we not suppose to be able to have a discussion? I like Gore. I would have supported Gore. I have been very disappointed that he has chosen, as far as I know, not to run.
I believe he has much influence and I do not know who he will support. I wandered who others thought he would support.

Why on earth this disturbed so many people eludes me.

30. If you peruse this thread
you might note that my first response was rather mild; I thought I showed admirable restraint, as I really do not care for Edwards at all. But when another poster came in with Edwards talking points, noting that these were for my and some others' edification, that's when I got irritated. It came off as "Welp. Gore's not running and you say you're not an Edwards supporter, but here's why you should be." It's sort of like being in the middle of watching a good movie on tv when your neighbor wanders in, sees what you're watching, announces "'Rosebud' is his sled," and flips the channel to the football game.

The primary in my state isn't until February, so I have some time before I have to settle for someone else. Right now, I still can't see anyone but Gore as my candidate.

yet you start a thread in the Al Gore Supporters forum asking who does everyone hope he'll endorse.

Wow! Such support for Al Gore, for which this forum is named.

Duh! Are you really that dense, or are you being duplicitous?

it's just that is known for so much more. He has integrity, vision and a long history of public service. No one compares to our guy. (I now have the tune My Girl in my head, substituting my for our and girl for guy.

Considering the email I received, we can probably expect more other followers. :(

24. Honest question
Asking who do you think Gore will support, is an honest question. I do not understand why anyone would think this did not belong here. It appears that Gore is not running, if he were I would vote for him.

Rosesaylavee, I just read the responses. I have no motives other than interest in the election. What other motive could there be?

We often think others think like we do, perhaps that is your problem.

26. I understand your response in a way...
And will give you the benefit of the doubt.

I think there are many here who haven't given up the wait and it did appear that your OP was trolling for votes amongst the apparent wreckage. It also doesn't help that your chosen user name is the pseudonym for another difficult DUer on other boards ... many were wondering if you were she and just come back to taunt.

As another Gore supporter said to me lately regarding questions such as your OP that it's very much like divorcing someone and having a well-meaning someone ask, 'well, who do you think your ex will be dating now'? It feels much like that. So if some of us are a bit prickly, that's the emotion flying high here.
