Guard’s 285th Aviation Regiment to return

The first wave of soldiers from 1st Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment, is scheduled to return to Arizona after serving in Afghanistan.

About 75 soldiers are set to arrive home on Wednesday. The rest of the unit is scheduled to return later this month.

The Arizona National Guard unit deployed with more than 450 soldiers in May 2006. They trained at Fort Hood, Texas, before leaving for Afghanistan in January 2007.
