Army study: Schofield brigade should stay

HONOLULU — An Army environmental study due to be released next week says the Stryker Brigade currently based at Schofield Barracks should stay in Hawaii.

The Army says it will release the report next Friday.

Army leadership will examine the report before making their final decision.

The report says Hawaii is a better place for the brigade than Alaska and Colorado.

The Army initially decided to base the Stryker Brigade in Hawaii without conducting a thorough environmental impact statement study.
