100 Marine reservists return this weekend

TULSA, Okla. — More than 100 Marines from the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Oklahoma City will return home this weekend from a seven-month stint in Iraq.

Officials wouldn’t say Wednesday what day or time the troops would arrive from Camp Lejeune, N.C., a stopover during their return from overseas.

Last July, 131 Marine reservists with the Fox Battery of the 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines of the 4th Marine Division left Oklahoma for Iraq.

They were sent to the al-Asad Air Base, the second-largest air base in that country, located near Fallujah.

There were no reported casualties among the unit during its tour of duty.
