I had a heart attack last Sunday.

and am now at home recuperating, with a new stent in an aorta feeding my heart.

I had no risk factors, no family history, was not overweight, had good eating habits ....

I actually had a series of attacks over several days, and the pain was located under my left shoulder blade, with a little side pain in my chest muscles and back of my throat. I have an atypical history and atypical symptoms. I went to the hospital ER for shoulder pain; I thought I had a muscle spasm in my back that was pinching a nerve!

Though classified as a mild attack, due to the lack of heart damage, there was nothing mild about the pain. I came to love nitroglycerin.

A friend was joking with me that the back pain symptom was simply my feminine side showing. This is more common among women who have heart attacks.

I am feeling pretty good, actually. Tired, but good.

I was asking for similar experiences to mine, and got some very interesting responses. After a day or so, the mods locked it, saying that DU was not the place to seek medical advice. I wasn't seeking advice, I was just seeking the experiences of others.
