As for your original question, no, I haven't yet participated in TalkCinema or any of the other local groups. I'm in a fairly good area for film releases, and there are apparently several movie clubs/meet-ups going on around here. Just lately I've registered with meetup.com to get ideas and leads.

2. I like the "surprise package" aspect of the group

and I've been looking for a substitute for the Sunday afternoon movie and dinner group that I was part of in Portland. This will party fill the bill.
