particularly human evolution; oh, I guess the stereotype isn't always true. Please refer to the post a couple of post above "Maat's" post (my post) in this thread.

We really need to work on correcting these highly inaccurate beliefs.

1. Along those lines...
One of my son's reading books is "Sign of the Beaver" by Elizabeth George Spear. In one chapter, there is a comparison of the Noah's Ark story and a similar Native American legend. So I read the story from the bible, to give him some familiarity with the story. Then we discussed how all the creatures on the planet, including man, would have been wiped out in a short time, due to insufficient diversity in the gene pools of those species.

I think it's important to expose him to the bible so I can teach him to really think about what he's reading.

2. Oh, yeah, we read "Sign of the Beaver."
I remember that part!

Yes, even the state of California requires a little on the ancient Israelites, etc.

After official school, sometimes we have a little mini-lesson on Christianity, the Bible, Paganism, etc., etc.

After all, being ignorant of what others believe NEVER helps.
