All hail my sandwich!

The bacon is fake which may be controversial -- but the Lemon Boy tomatoes are out of the garden, SOOO GOOD!

Special thanks to my neighbor for giving the the avocado.

Seriously fellow tomato lovers, you should try this Smart Bacon! Delish, vegan an no cholesterol.

1. Nothing wrong with fake bacon
The fresh tomatoes are the best part of the sandwich anyway. They look very tasty!

2. Very very inviting
I splurge on BLT's. We often use Arkansas pepper bacon which has a nice little zing to it. I have my second crop of tomatoes in. We've been pigging out on homegrowns for a month and hope to be still consuming come Thanksgiving.

Hope your garden has plenty of sunshine and farmer's rains.

3. Love it!
Everyday I have a salad or a sandwich with lettuce from my garden. Nothing better.

4. Mmmmmmm
We are still waiting here for our tomatoes. This AM I counted 25 of them growing and two turning red! We LIVE for BLT's with fresh tomatoes. This year they will be our own, even better.

Lemon Boy's. Do they taste different or is it just the color?

8. The Lemon Boys are delish!
They might have a tiny bit of a bit to them, like a little more tart, but like a tomatillo undertaste I guess. But if you ate the sandwich in the dark you wouldn't know it wasn't red tomatoes. Very juicy!

9. Totally understandable, LOL!
It's my vegan daughter & dad who inspire me to try the fake stuff. It is understandable to be suspicious of it because there is just a LOT OF BAD FAKE MEAT SHIT OUT THERE!!! AND EVEN WORSE FAKE CHEESE!

However, to me this is a winner. It's crunchy, smokey, no "soy" aftertaste and best of all no pan-o-pig-grease mess. The Morning Star one is not so good.

IMO the best vegan products are: Soyriso (spicy sausage-ish stuff), Veganaise (better/fresher tasting that the industrial mayo), Boca spicy "chikN" patties, and Better Than Cream Cheese tofu-based cream cheese. Can't tell the diff on that last one! These are always in constant rotation in my mixed Carni/Omni/Vegi/Vegan household and no complaints from any contingent....

10. Hail to your sandwich! YUM!
My favorite bacon is JennieO's extra lean turkey bacon. Not quite as crispy as the fatty pork kind, but tastes very good.

I'll often make a version of the blt sandwich for breakfast on a toasted bagel, and add a little cheese and/or an egg cooked 'over easy' to it as well.

13. No Trader Joes here, unfortunately.
But I may be able to find a non-nitrate brand at one of the local grocers.
