Anyone had Unusual Experiences with GardenWeb?
Over the years, I have participated in several seed exchanges through GardenWeb's Seed Exchange forum, and, I used to be a regular poster in the Trees Forum. Mostly, the people are otherwise normal, sincere, gardening-nerds, like myself. But occasionally there is a vocal Right Winger, and there is no shortage of Bible-Thumping Fundies.

My favorite: the Fundie Christian whose profile page was in ALL CAPS, a single, page long, paragraph blathering on and on about "SEEDS ARE COINS FROM GOD".

Please share your experiences.

1. I was one of their main Tomato people there until it was sold to a commercial site -
then the pop up ads proliferated and it was just too obnoxious to deal with. I also don't care for the scrolling format - I much prefer a format such as here at DU. The only garden site I now frequent is Tomatoville.com.

2. Overall, I enjoy it.
A lot of other gardening sites are pretty slow.

Most of the posts are pretty non-controversial, but you never know when a heated debate will break out about
something or other.
