I've got my new assignment!!!!!!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I pretty sure this is it. It fits so well:

* it fills a *real* need
* it concerns things of deep personal interest
* it combines skills from the far past, recent past and current
* it redirects, yet renews my original plan when I came here
* it has a structure, which I tend to need
* it has a DEADLINE, which I really need :blush:
* it's the 1st in a series
* if successful it could ultimately set me free

I wish I could work on it full time this month, instead of between the job. But...whatever. I'll manage, one step at a time :D

And that's as much as I intend to say for now.

Ok, one more thing...the deadline is September 1 or maybe Labor Day Weekend. You'll know what it is then ;)

13. AWESOME!
Especially that one in a series thing. I don't know what you mean by the deadline deal but am assuming this means you can quit making sandwiches. Yay!

15. no, it does not mean no more sandwiches
Right now, I'm living "sandwich to sandwich." Last week's sandwich-making is paying this week's plumbing bill. This week's sandwich-making will buy a 3-month supply of hay to tide me over until tax refund buys hay through next year. And so on...

It could be a long time...or never...before it pays off. But I do feel like it *could* pay off.

Now I've got to summon the energy, after a long day of making sandwiches, to get focussed. Hopefully, the job on the dark side will come through, which will be less physically exhausting and better schedule-wise, until this does have a chance to pay off...

16. mmm. take if from someone
who spent three years tethered to a phone line, it is not necessarily less physically exhausting. I used to feel like someone had beaten me with a 2x4 when I left every day. Personally, I prefer those jobs that have me up on my feet and moving around. Waitressing. Floral design. Massage. I hope you find it different if it works out that way. I'm just one of those people who are energized by movement.

19. I understand...different types of exhaustion
I got exhausted by sitting all the time too, in my old desk job career. In fact, that exacerbated by blood-sugar/hypoglycemic issues.

The reason I think the sitting job will be better for me right now is that I already do about 3-4 hours hard labor/day maintaining the farm. That can increase to as many as 5-6 hours hard labor in winter, if we have heavy snow. Many paths to shovel. Too many. :cry: Add to that science classes with 3 hours on my feet in the lab.

By evening, I'm ready to plunk myself down somewhere on my tired, sore butt and exercise some other part of me...

20. Right.
I thought of that. You get lots of exercise at home. I actually loved my JOB on the phones (working with people). It was the whip snapping management that made it unbearable.

is a skill we will all need in the near future & you can write about it from experience. I certainly wish for you that this new venture pans out!
