Latest Gallup Poll. Asthma, fear or premonition?
Since I was 14 I've had what I call feelings: a tightness in my chest that feels either light or heavy. Sometimes I have an idea what they mean, sometimes they take me by surprise. When I saw the latest Gallup Poll, showing McCain two points ahead during the Democratic Convention, my chest instantly tightened. Bad, bad feeling that won't go away. I know that either want or fear can interfere with anything even half-way psychic, so have no idea whether these feelings are real, the product of progressed MC conjunct Saturn, or maybe a case of undiagnosed asthma. My question to everyone is - what is your gut feeling about the election?

2. I'd check for ashma
but that is just me

As to my personal feelings about the election

The dems should win, like 2004, but like 2004 the pubs will try ( and perhaps succeed) in stealing it

And the murican people will keep twiddling thumbs

3. One thing to keep in mind about these polls:
The majority of them are done by phone, specifically land line.

A lot of people don't have land lines, especially younger people. They use a cell phone exclusively, and I think I read somewhere that pollsters cannot call cell phones (uses up minutes).

So, the polls really aren't that accurate, because a hefty chunk of people (especially younger voters) aren't being polled.

Chin up, Disorganized. While I confess that I, too, am wary of the Republicans stealing the election yet again, I do feel more genuinely optimistic this year. I've rarely in my lifetime seen a potential leader of the country stir people as much as Barack Obama.

4. No surprise, really.
While I don't get a tightness in my chest, I know what it means to have a bad feeling about something. I just hope your tight feeling is simply a normal response to what looks like bad news for our guy.

I'm about the least psychic person out there, so any "feelings" I might have are relatively meaningless.

I vacillate between feeling very confident, and remembering how in 2004 so many people said they'd voted for Bush in 2000 and weren't about to vote for him this time, and look at what happened. And of course there was the whole stealing of the election in more than one place.

I'm in Santa Fe, and about a week ago Howard Dean came through with his bus, and talked about not only the fifty state campaign, but the need to go into every singe one of the thirty-three counties in this state, and not write off the heavily Republican ones. And that's exactly what needs to be done in every single state, even in the ones that it appears that there's no way at all a Democrat could win.

I sincerely hope you don't have undiagnosed asthma. That's not a fun disease.
