Anyone here down with the Unity Church?
I already started a discussion on the liberal Christianity board but I think this organization would be big in the alernative crowd.

Thanks.

1. I'm just not into churches of any kind...altho we have a good Unity
church here in my town. Great for holding alternative type events :) But it was still too Christian based for my taste.

Did UU for awhile bu find I have much better connection to Spirit if I just go up on the red rocks....

2. thumbs up...
I was involved with a Unity church for a while and really enjoyed it. Once the minister changed, the focus was more jesus-centric, and less co-creator-centric - that was one reason that I stopped attending.

3. Unity's very good

Very strong on the metaphysical basics. So is Church of Religious Science, which I found similar (tho didn't attend that many services ever).

A little like Desertrose, I'm just not much of a churchgoer person. I used to say to people, "If I could get myself going on Sunday mornings..." but then one day someone called me bluff: "Oh, but our Friends service is on Sunday afternoon!!!"

Gulp.

Truth to tell, I'd probably LOVE the Quakers. In fact, I was one once -- at least once (I'm quite sure of that).

Unity membes were also a little too huggish to me. I don't necessarily like to hug people I don't know or even, for that matter, hold hands with them and sing or greet them personally at someone else's direction. Blech.

Another thing I love is the home that Unity has given pagans!! Woohooo! Love it.

4. LOL!
They did the hug thing when I went in Boise 9 years ago. It freaked me out but I think I'm ready for it now.
