My friends, I need some positive energy
I am working with The Secret, to turn my life around, but I could use an extra boost.

In the "outer world", my house is a mess -- not the part viewed by company, but the area I hang out in a lot is a freakin' mess.

My finances are a mess.

My marriage is done, far as I'm concerned, but I'm still in it, stealing myself for telling my husband I want out.

My ability to focus has gone down the toilet.

I know I sound like I'm whining, but really, I'm not.

I got myself to the point where I'm at.

I am responsible for getting myself out.

However, if anyone can give me a boost, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm tired of living in muck and mud.

I want to move on.

Thanks. :loveya:

1. I will send you lots of positive energy, SG.
I'll try to make it "boosting" energy.

As I said, I know it is ultimately up to me, but I seem to be fighting my way through the mud and muck right now, so any bit of help I can get is most welcome.

You're not whining...going through a tough time, and vocalizing your issues. Not a bad thing! (Something I still need to learn)

It seems like a lot of folks are in situations lately where they are feeling stuck and needing to move on. Just know you're not alone.

6. When things start to close down around you
it is a sign that you need to move on. It may be painful but the universe is telling you that now is the time to make changes.

13. I know.
The paradox is, I feel so weighed down, it seems difficult to take any kind of step to put change into motion.

But I need to do something, even if it's just a small thing.

My past experience tells me that once I do that, then it's easier to take the next step.

SG,
It sounds like you know what you want changed but do you know what you want to change to? I ask because I've been in that rut. If you are, let me know and I will make suggestions to help you think of new goals. Good luck.

Do you mind? I have pretty good ideas about what I want to change 'to'. But still could use new goal setting.

14. I do know what changes I want to make.
One of my biggest hurdles is that the part of me that still thinks "I'm not worthy" tends to raise its head, particulary where my marriage is concerned. I get stuck in thinking, "Who am I to hurt someone?" And yet, I am also a "someone" who is right now being hurt by NOT making changes.

18. SG and Votesomemore
Have you heard of The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron? The book is a 12-week program designed to remove writer's blocks. It helped me move past some of the emotional blocks I had to envisioning a new life, including the type of thoughts SG talked about. One of gthe ways it did this was by helping me get past some of the resentments I've been carrying around with me. I'm just about to start the book again, but this time with a group of people.
The book is readily available. The two main exercises are: 1) morning pages --3 pages of longhand writing on anything every morning; 3) weekly artist date -- you devote 2 hours to doing, seeing something alone that you would not ordinarily do. There are other exercises but they differ each week.
I hope this helps you.

21. Wow. I was just thinking about this book
this morning and wondering if I should start a thread about it.
I did part of it, including morning pages and artist date, in 2000. It helped me move beyond a lot of things and put my version of spirituality into perspective. At least it started me on a new path.

I would very much like to go through it again. Do you have a local group or is it online?

Wonderful suggestion. I have seven books I'm reading right now. I need to put more focus into getting them all read. I feel new habits coming on!

24. I found the group online but they meet in person
I looked at Meet Up and found a local group here in Seattle. I've emailed them about joining and hope it's not a problem. They seem to be at Chapter 3, not too far ahead. I think I'll just lag behind but still attend the meetings and feed off the enthusiasm and ideas.
Are you in a big enough metropolitan area to have a group?

36. Austin is large enough
to have a group, but there isn't one. meetup.com indicates there are almost 50 people interested in having one. No organizer has stepped forward. Is there another 'Meet Up'?

I wonder if there is a book study group forum on DU?
In 2000, I participated in some online groups, and started off working with someone long distance, via email. She dropped out. It requires a time commitment.

Your group sounds great! I know you will enjoy it.

I've been thinking about you. Wondering where you have been.
Are you and MrSG going to remain friends?
Can you spend five minutes sorting through some things in your hang out space?
I find that when my space is messed up, it is much more difficult to think and take action on pending items. (I can handle a bit of a mess .. seems necessary.)

:grouphug: You have our love and faith in you. Divine Universal Spirit does too.

He's a good man.

I was just thinking that a good place to start would be to do a bit of cleaning up in my hang out space. I keep thinking that it's an outer manifestation of what I feel inside, so maybe if I clean it up, it would help my inner hang out space not feel so messed up.

I joined her yahoo group. Cleaning my sink right now. That's step one. Doing laundry. Have re-arranged one of my bookshelves. Vacuumed, mopped...where will it end?
Lol.

Several weeks ago, I started a grand scheme to get cleaned and organized. All my bills are paid. I'm very bad about just stacking unopened mail in various places. A paper shredder came in very handy and we recycle paper here, so no guilt about throwing it out. I got bogged down after the room arrangement phase, but am back in gear now. Thanks a bunch! I'm already starting to notice that getting chores done allows for more time to do the things I ENJOY doing. I'm not constantly looking at the floor and 'thinking', sure needs a mopping ... More mental energy!
I'm pretty excited :bounce:

SG! Take a look at the site even if you aren't up to getting a move on it yet.
Check in and let us know how you're feeling.

Could you be ill? Could you have some chronic illness that has made it hard for you to 1) clean your house; 2) take care of your finances; 3) tell your husband?

Just curious.

That's how my life is.

However, I am feeling tremendously better. Perhaps you could too?

33. SeattleGirl,
I am sending you lots of love and light. :grouphug:

Here is something that Dream posted a while back, that gave me some comfort when I was going through hell: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=245&topic_id=14708

Transformation is not easy; I am still in the process of it. Sometimes I feel so connected, sometimes I feel so totally alone - but I know it is necessary, that I have to break out of old patterns (some were my own, some were imposed upon me through illness) - but I am starting to see some positive results, and I know I will continue to.

Wouldn't it be great if the path to soul growth was fun? ;)

Please know I am thinking of you during these very difficult times. :loveya:

46. Just saw this post - lots of love and light coming to you
I know how hard it is when you feel you are at the very depths.

Just know that one day, you can look back and bless the place you are now, bless all the things you are going through, because you will be in a much better place.

You can be grateful that you at least know what it is you have to do. That knowledge is very powerful.

Remember, going from a place of gratitude will always bring better results.

Try to focus on something - anything- that you can be grateful for. Do nice things for yourself...even if it is something very small, like treating yourself to a latte at Starbucks. Take a walk and notice the beauty that is all around you.

The business cards are nearly finalized, I had a significant dent in cleaning up my hang-out space here at home, and have been working on changing my thinking overall, from "I don't have......" to being in a more prosperous frame of mind (and not just financially, but overall). Things are starting to lighten up for me.
