Okay, gang, this is it! Can I get an 'amen'/'so mote it be'?
I'm sick of all the workplace drama, aren't you? After much consultation with friends (Stellanoir! Bliss!), family (DH: "Just do it now"; Jr.: "Mama, are we staying home this day?"), covenmates, and ascended beings speaking through elders, I have FINALLY decided to tell this workplace hellhole to shove it.

I am giving my notice next week. Wendesday, moondark, Mercury's day (since he went to so much trouble to throw so many cars of said make in my path last week).

So here we go, folks! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers next week! (Maybe pre-Wednesday, as SOME folks in the office can't keep their mouths shut, and this news might find its way up the food chain before I had planned on going public.)

Wish me luck! Thanks all! :hi:

1. Good luck, MorningGlow! I don't know if this would be considered to be...
a "project" or not, but just in case, I went to ricochetastroman's monthly newsletter to make sure that the Moon wasn't Void-of-Course. It's not. (As you're probably aware, it's my understanding that new projects shouldn't be started while the Moon is Void-of-Course.)

I'm excited for you!

2. Amen!
Morning glow, morning glow
Starts to glimmer when you know
Winds of change are set to blow
And sweep this whole land through
Morning glow is long past due

Morning glow fill the earth
Come and shine for all you're worth
We'll be present at the birth
Of old faith looking new
Morning glow is long past due

4. Ahhhhhhh
Yer playin' my song! :)

Lately I've been bellowing this one too:

Hi-de-ho, hi-de-hi
I'm gonna get me a piece of the sky
I'm gonna get me some of that old sweet roll
Singin' hi-de-hi-de-hi-de-hi-de-ho

I've been down so low
Bottom looked like up
Once I thought that seconds saves
Was enough to fill my cup
So I offered all I got
But it ain't no way to live
Being taken by the ones who got
The least amount to give

26. I did that!
MorningGlow you will love leaving Corporate America behind. I still shudder when I think back to being a cubical rat. I left it a decade ago after 23 years with one company. The first week I was home I remember dancing in circles singing happy songs in my living room. It's been wonderful. I started my own web design business that's still chugging along, and now I also sell soy/veggie candles because it's fun. No backstabbing, no bad bosses, no rush hour traffic, and I can wear sweats while I work. It was scary leaving financially, but we did just fine. Much happiness to you and congratulations on your decision!!

30. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement!
Thank you so much for sharing your story--it makes me feel better. Because, yes, the one thing I'm afraid of is the financial end of things. I keep reading articles about how, before one partner quits his or her full-time job, you have to have megabucks stashed away. Eep! :scared: But then again, it's not like I'm NOT going to work--both DH and I have freelance jobs in addition to DH's full-time job.

I definitely can see myself singing and dancing in my living room! Work was toxic, and there's only so much you can do with amethyst and medicine wheels on the window ledges, if you know what I mean. It's the backstabbing and bad bosses that finally got me to leave. Wearing sweats will be the icing on the cake! :)

Thanks again, Vanboggie--now I've moved past cautious optimism to real excitement about this! :hi:

35. You're welcome, MG!
It won't be the same, but it will be a better different. I've become expert at buying my clothes on Ebay instead of the malls - but then sweats and jeans are not as expensive as suits anyway (a decade ago when I was cube ratting, it was suits and heels - ick!). You have to be more careful with the finances, but it is do-able. With your ability to freelance, you'll be just fine. You'll find that many of your expenses were DUE to working (gas, lunches, clothing, babysitter).

Good forum for you to visit and network: http://www.wahm.com. If you run across "horsesandcandles" it's me :hi:

Enjoy your happy dance! :bounce:

19. MorningGlow You know how I feel about this
I know I'm being selfish, but I'm going to miss you something awful. BUT, you also know on the other hand I'm so damn proud of you. I told you that if any one of my friends could have the option that I had to stay home and raise your kids like I did, then go for it. It's the very best part of being a mommy. Little MG, will absolutely love it. This will change your entire life for the better. The office drama is getting too much for even me. BUT I will keep you up to date on what's going on with who, and who said what. The only difference is, I wont have my 'sister' with me to go and vent to, go to have a cup of coffee with, or to talk about the universe and what is going on with it and our lives. The political crap we talk about too. What other Dem am I going to talk and b**ch to about it??? LOL
I love you MorningGlow, and you better know how happy I am for you, even though I give you sh** about it. I'm just being selfish. I wouldn't worry about people telling the big guy before you do. Everyone wants you to stay. (Well almost everyone) LOL, except maybe baldy and slim ball Steve. LOL
Wed, is the perfect day for YOU to tell Mr. VP, and as we've talked about before, he's going to say "Well good luck", (such an as*):evilfrown:
So here's my very very sincere congratulations to you for your decision. Please lets promise we wont do what everyone does when they leave a place. I mean out of sight out of mind kind of thing. It happens, and I don't want it to happen to you and I. We've been through so much together with this hellhole.
If you don't tell Mr. VP the absolute truth of why your leaving, I promise you I will hunt you down. LOL:evilgrin:

I love you girl,

So you must keep me informed on every latest chapter in the saga, and I will be by for coffee--I'll bet I'll even get you to eat LUNCH once in a blue moon (mmmmm chicken caesar wrap from the Pita Pit--you know you want some!)

As for "What other Dem am I going to talk and bitch to"--look around you, woman! This site has tens of thousands of angry Dems!

But I'd better stay at the top of your list for gossip and bitchin'!

Love you back lots, OS! And I mean that!

I'm sorry to say. After today's ridiculous retreat, absolutely NOTHING is going to change, NOTHING!!!!!!! I seriously think now that you've made up your mind, I dint know if I can stay there. You were my rock there. I am getting scared now for you to actually leave. I'll have no one to talk to in that toxic wasteland. BUT, your doing the right thing honey and you and I have talked about it. If you were to waiver what so ever, you know I'd kick your butt to leave this hellhole. Just everyone, once, MG leaves, pray for me, will you? I'll need it.
