i'm reading an interesting book right now called The Pillars of Tubal-Cain. It's essentially a study of myths about 'angelic beings' accelerating the development of civilization by teaching people all sorts of technology and magics. Nephilim is a reference to the biblical story about fallen angels mating with humans and creating a race of giants. The authors of the book interpret giants in a metaphorical sense.

It's interesting to me to look at this idea in terms of democracy vs. elitism (this being DU and all). This story is paralleled in the myth of Prometheus, or the Luciferian tradition in western esoteric lore. Giving to mankind what was the jealously guarded province of the gods - so that humankind can become as gods. Some would say to restore our natural place in the order of things - if you're a gnostic. The myths generally have the gods being rather peeved at this.

1. Have you heard of the Annunaki at all ?

Short on time at the moment but I beleive there is a tie in, of sorts, between the Nephilim and the Annunaki that basically the 'fallen angels' were actually ET's who came to Earth and taught 'the knowledge of the Gods' ie, math, astronomy, governance, as well as interbreeding with the Earth Dwellers to produce a somewhat evolved 'mixed race'.

I'll post links when I can.

I think it's a fascinating, and very practical theory.

They also demand human sacrifices of virgins from those they conquer

"The name "Anunnaki" can mean many different things - it is rich with meaning. "An" is short for "anachnu," which means "we." "An" also means "heaven." "Naki" means "clean." In B'raisheet (Genesis) 6:4 it is written:
"The Lord said, "My breath shall not abide in man forever, since he too is flesh; let the days be allowed him be one hundred and twenty years." It was then, and later too, that the Nephilim appeared on earth - when the divine beings cohabited with the daughters of men, who bore them offspring. They were the heroes of old, men of renown."

It is thought, by some, that the Nephilim were sinful gods who "fell from grace." They fell, alright, in their spaceships. This can also be seen as symbolic. The "fall" having to do with lowering one's frequency from spirit into physical matter, which is slower and denser. "Fall" also meaning forgetting one's true Source. As life forms choose to come to Earth their vibration goes through changes so that they are more matched to the frequency of Earth, their new home. Now these ETs literally came down from space, but souls choosing to incarnate upon the earth also had to change their vibrational frequencies. Enlil was first to come to Earth and was there even before mankind was created. The Sumerian texts called mankind the "Black-Headed People."

The Nephilim are the subject of an obscure reference in the old testament that has been cited in connection with imagined breeding activities involving humans and extraterrestrials in ancient times. In Genesis 6:04, the Nephilim are described as powerful men or giants who lived on Earth when the "sons of god" had children by human females. There are various interpretations of this passage. One interpretation is that it refers merely to very large, strong men. According to another interpretation, the pasage refers to the godly descendants of Seth, third son of Adam, taking wives from among the ungodly descendants of Cain. A third interpretation is that the Nephilim were fallen angels (that is, demons) who had intercourse with women on Earth and produced a monstrous race that was destroyed in the biblical flood. In any event, it is a long step of the imagination from Genesis 6:04 to the genetic manipulatoin attributed to extraterrestrials in modern UFO mythology.


Nefilim. translated, "Nefilim" means "those who came down."
A hypothetical race of extraterrestrials, the Nefilim feature in the writings of Zecharia Sitchin, who suggests that humans were created to serve as slaves for the Nefilim when the aliens supposedly came to Earth to mine gold and other valuables metals. According to Sitchin's hypothesis, the Nefilim came from Marduk, a planet in the far outer reaches of our solar system. Sitchin suggets that the Nefilim became the deities of human mythology.

2. abominable deformed children of the grigori = nephilim

the 8th choir of angels, grigori, closest to what it means to be human and to the corporeal plane, they are the watchers, aiding mankind into civilization. they fell in love with humanity and produced offspring. offspring were usually human with a touch of angellic nature, but sometimes (around 1/4 the time) a monstrous child was formed. they became the great beasts of imagination, sphinx, manticore, etc, lived on the outside of civilization and often killed their parents and siblings. they were powerful in corporeal forces and held a touch of demonic nature. heaven was outraged and slaughtered all the nephilim, as much of the non-monstrous childer, and rounded up the choir of grigori to face judgement in the seraphim council. they were judged to be outcast from heaven, an entire 8th of heaven's angels, an entire choir, was to be banished from the glory of heaven, forced to walk the earth until armageddon. they are hunted by demons and militant angels alike, staying in the corporeal plane and far marches of the ethereal plane, quietly doing their job while desperately avoiding losing their vessels, to avoid being flung into limbo.
