Earthquake Analysis
Edited on Tue Aug-23-11 08:59 PM by Me.
This is from Starcats who also features some nice tidbits from the Mountain Astrologer who points to the US being a boiling pot, a not unfamiliar concept as it has been discussed by Ricochet.

"Magnitude Earthquake!

Virginia Earthquake 2011: USGS Warns it May be a Foreshock
http://img.ibtimes.com/www/site/article/202683.htm

International Business Times 8/23/2011

“According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake happened at 1:51 p.m. at a depth of 3.7 miles. The quake was centered 27 miles east of Charlottesville, Va., near the town Mineral in Louisa County. Virginia Earthquake 201

1: USGS Warns it May be a Foreshock”

The chart for the State of Virginia is June 26, 1788, at 12:00 pm. The noon time comes from the Virginia Historical Society. Virginia has cardinal angles, which places transiting Saturn in Libra in the first, Uranus in Aries in the 7th and Pluto on the 4th house cusp. Saturn is too far in degree to make a perfect cardinal grand square with Virginia’s Cancerian Sun and Jupiter, but it sure seems to be working that way. T-Pluto on the I.C. cusp opposite Virginia’s Sun is certainly the “up from under” thrust set off by unexpected shakes Uranus in the 7th house.

I think that the quincunx (150 degree aspect) between Virginia’s Cancerian Uranus and Mercury to transiting Neptune also play a part. Uranus quincunx Neptune, two outer planets, signal the timing of a destablizing stretch. Quincunx aspects signal what’s out of joint and two tectonic plates in struggle for space show that one will have to “give way” or sacrifice to the other. The earth’s crust is constantly moving like the top layer of a pie that’s floating atop hot molten juices below. The out of phase quincunx set up by transit in Virginia’s chart show that something above and below strained to the breaking point.

If this is a foreshock to a greater level event in the future, We might see something of consequence happen again after Uranus goes direct on December 10th at 0 Aries. That 0 Cardinal point is usually a signal of a big event. It can be geological or geopolitical. Or both. Uranus at 0 Aries so close in opposition to Virginia’s Ascendant means the state is going to have to get their earthquake emergency response team in place. The old Dominion, the oldest of colonies and still the keeper of some of the oldest (and not so good) ideas about humanity and politics is being “shaken up.” I know, I know. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but I still subscribe to “as above, so below.” Or as Jung would tell us, what we don’t own often eventuates in an event outside us."cont...

"I like this week’s column from Mary Plumb of The Mountain Astrologer"

“Sachs sees the unrest as interconnected and essentially under the theme of “popular frustration with governments not meeting the needs of the people.” He said there is a “pressure cooker” in the U.S., where problems — unequal wealth, a large underclass, high unemployment, a distrust in the legitimacy of government, a woeful educational system and infrastructure, no coherent energy policy, etc. — are at a boiling point.” http://mountainastrologer.com/tma/mars-saturn-and-the-moon

I like her work on Michele Bachmann’s chart too: “The recent Newsweek cover, with a wide-eyed photo of Michele Bachmann, reminded me of Pallas Athena springing forth from Zeus’s head. (1) But then, I had already noticed that Bachmann shares Pallas Athena conjunct the Moon with the U.S. Sibly horoscope.”

1. But Pallas Athena is the goddess of wisdom
How could Michele Bachman's wild-eyed look remind anyone of Pallas Athena?
If I were Pallas Athena, I'd sue for libel.

3. I have likewise been wondering if this
is more of a foreshock than the real thing.

4. USGS warns it may be
"Minutes after the quake, the director of the USGS, Marcia McNutt -- who watched objects falling from the shelves in her office -- cautioned that the shaking might not be over.

"What the concern is, of course, is that this is a foreshock. If it's a foreshock, then the worst is yet to come," McNutt told The Washington Post.

7. The Thing About Starcats...
I haven't been to her site in years but what I remember about her is that her predictions are surprisingly accurate. Back in 2004 when many of astrologers were predicting a Kerry win she said quite firmly that Bush would win and then his admin would begin to unravel like a ball of yearn. Which is what happens. Now it could be that Kerry was supposed to win and the election was stolen thus making those who predicted a win technically correct. But what impressed me most about her forecast was the unraveling part she described and which subsequently occurred.

5. I actually read awhile back a prediction of a large
earthquake in Virginia along the Appalachians with the epicenter being a little southwest of Roanoke Virginia. This caught my attention because that's where I'm from and some of my family is there. The prediction was for Sept. 4th, 5th and 6th if I recall correctly. Since it's so rare to get earthquakes in this area, when I saw the one yesterday, the first thing I thought of was of that prediction I had read awhile back.

There's a guy on youtube who is very good forecasting, and analyzing earthquakes. He's very popular. Just type in "Dutchsinse" and his channel will come up. He has a video up that he put out yesterday talking about the Virginia quake and the large Colorado quake the day before. Apparently there were at nearly the same latitude and there's a very old fault that runs across there. He says there's much pushing going on from the west coast as well that is contributing to the east coast quake(s). There was a report of steam coming out of the ground on the west coast that he's watching closely. He has great graphics and seems very educated on the subject.

9. All this earthquake stuff
Edited on Wed Aug-24-11 08:34 PM by rosesaylavee
makes this Illinoisan tense... the New Madrid fault line runs south of us by a few hundred miles and it is long overdue for its temporal adjustment.

Just googled and I guess I am not the only one thinking along those lines... made the mighty Mississippi flow backwards last time.

And rang church bells as far away as DC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Madrid_Seismic_Zone

10. Neptune and the charts for the CO & VA quakes...
I was intrigued by the chart for the Virginia quake. I immediately noted the Sun-Neptune opposition squaring the Ascendant, suggesting bewilderment and/or an identity crisis, as in: "Earthquakes in Virginia??? These don't happen HERE!!". Also noting Neptune ruling the 4th house -- homeland security, foundation.

Also of interest: at 1:50PM (one minute before the Virginia quake), the New York Times posted a piece on another freaky, "rare" quake that happened at 11:46PM 8/22/2011 in Trinidad, Colorado. Looking at that chart we see the Sun-Neptune opposition (Sun ruling the 4th) also squaring ASC.

Coincidence or conspiracy?

14. "Planets don't do things..."
Hi Roseaylavee,

Thanks for the warm welcome and your kind words :) I will try to post here more often. Meanwhile, I do post a forecast almost daily on my website -- speculating on what we might see in the headlines on a given day, suggested by planetary patterns.

As for Neptune and the rest of the planets out to do us harm, as my teacher is fond of saying, "Planets don't do things. People do!" We decide whether to use the energy related to a particular pattern in a positive or negative way...and sometimes we decide to do nothing at all. But even with free will, it is fascinating to observe over and over again how we can anticipate events based on planetary patterns...and they actually happen as anticipated. There is so much we do not know...

All best,

Elisabeth

13. You know that the day an earthquake hits they will
take the coverage off or raise the premium really high even if you don't make a claim. It happened to me. But do keep it until then because it will be inexpensive up until that time.

15. it's happened before!
The local news in NY had a very interesting story about how this has happened before, meaning an earthquake and a hurricane in one week. I believe the year was 1941.

They interviewed an old timer who even had the front page of the NY Times from the week of the hurricane and the earthquake. It didn't make the front page because of the war, though. The OT said he thought it might be because the NY Times, a propaganda marvel even back then, didn't want people focusing on how many ships we'd lost at sea during the hurricane.

It may have not been entirely wise to chop off all those mountain tops in W. Virginia.

They've leveled an area in W. Virginia that is the approximate size of Delaware,

And perhaps screwed up the topography and possibly irrevocably altered the force upon the tectonic plates below.

Well ya have to admit. Mountain tops are hardly dismissable or methinks they shouldn't ever be.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a geologist. Just paraphrasing what GAIA said.

Haven't seen anyone else talking about that possibility though.

Seems obvious.

17. Earth is a wonderfully balanced system, as intended.
People shouldn't think themselves smarter than her, and go messing with her like that. That sort of education is too costly.

Where is this dig? I haven't been aware of it.

18. I heard several interviews about it at the beginning of the summer.
Here's one I didn't hear but I'm sure this guy doesn't muddle his facts much.

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/tavissmiley/interviews/environmental-advocate-robert-f-kennedy-jr/

Here are videos about the Blair Mountain Protest. (processional) Lots of heckling,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PrvV5nI4oI&feature=related

There's a speech in this one/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=OJqqf970d64

It's a mess.

Costly education for the exploiters indeed over time. More exacting for those left suffering and the planet having to cope with it for sure.

I'm sure there's a lot more available.

I didn't link to the CNN story from mid August because they tried to show both sides but leaned towards the potential jobs lost short term and not the horrific environmental long term damage.

Besides, with mountain top removal much of the labor is handled through machines anyhow.

It's nutz.

GAIA will survive this idiocy but sheesh.
