A great snippet from A Course in Miracles
Interesting thought...

Let's pray to get out of the Holy Spirit's way.

Most of would admit to praying for a better job or more money or secure relationships.
It's not "wrong" to pray for any of those things. However, it keeps us thinking that
we can control situations if only God answers our prayers. The more we pray, the more
will God becomes, we hope.

Alas, we generally stay stuck because the ego's prayers are so limiting. We only discover
this however, when we let the Holy Spirit take charge of where we go, what we do, what we
think, whom we befriend, and thus whom we become. We have so much more potential than the
ego would ever credit us with.

It's really much easier only to stay out of the Holy Spirit's way (the still voice within).
It saves us from having to figure out what we should do or think in particular situations.
It frees us from having to figure out a friend's life too. There's one thing to do, and only
one thing, in every circumstance. Move aside for the Holy Spirit.

Affirmation: I'm tense because I'm trying to control the uncontrollable.
I'll let the Holy Spirit work in my life today.

1. I appreciate that
Prayer is about manifestation, and the trick is to both care about the manifestation while at the same time letting go of being tied to the outcome. If a person is tied to the outcome, it generally creates a blockage for manifestation. Again, there is the problem of trying NOT to think of a pink elephant. But it really IS best not to think of the pink elephant. The people that have mastered this are a long way towards reaching their goals energetically.

JMHO! This is just a slightly different twist on the meditation. We stay stuck when we ask for something and are emotionally attached to the outcome. Yet, that is what generally happens when we ask for specific things. Again, I don't think it is the prayer for the specific thing that is the problem, but the emotional attachment to the outcome that is the problem. That is when we "get in the way" of the "Holy Spirit."

2. Eckert Tolle believes that our ego is always the problem.
In the Power of Now, and A New Earth, Eckert Tolle states almost all emotional responses have to do with the ego. It is very hard to let go of the ego, although I think it is exactly what we should do. Most of us as we age, seem to chip away at the ego somewhat, such as, not thinking in terms of being the hot Babe anymore, and REALLY being completely alright with comfortable clothes and not always wearing makeup, (those are small examples)... and finally start to find ourselves( or rather, God)..Right, Rick?? Usually if we get out of our own way, while staying on our real path, we might somehow get to the destiny I believe you mean..

Hey, I don't know, but I'm sure glad the DNS thing is fixed! Holy Cow I missed you guys like crazy!

then we are god/dess and there is no outside and there is no there to get to.

It's really funny. I have no problem accessing DU; but, my Beloved's computer quit working. I think the difference is I've been in the dirt and working with the sun and not trying to be modern at all.

Off to do more of the same as I did yesterday!

edited to credit Donovan for the quote.
