*MAY 2010* Prayer, Light and Healing Requests
Welcome all, to the Month of May 2010 Prayer, Light, and Healing Request thread!

This is the month that brings us color and warmth with spring’s annual display of new growth…
This is the month for mothers, as so many new souls appear in all shapes, sizes and colors…
This is the month of blossoming hope…

What a wonderful surprise!
I’ve just had a Bleeding Heart plant “magically” appear in my garden(I’d forgotten that I’d planted it late last season after I purchased it at a clearance sale.

I thank God for most this
amazing
day; for the leaping greenly
spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;
and for everything
which is natural, which is
infinite, which is yes.

~e. e. cummings~

May this month shine warmly on you.
May you feel a sense of optimistic renewal, as we experience this amazing and powerful season called Spring.
And-may you all hear “yes”…

Wovenpaint

I love the "gratitude" symbol with your bleeding heart - that's wonderful!

This is the month of blossoming hope - yes. What a perfect mantra for the month. :hug:

2. I'm glad that you like it
:hi:
I always tend to take a deep breath before I post. As a visually oriented person, sometimes words can be a challenge for me to get the correct feeling into them.

That's a chunk of concrete that came from a demolished building. It was a little adventure to get it...my SO insisted on hopping over a fence to grab it and push it back under.
I was on the "receiving end"-it was a lot heavier than we thought, lol.
But, it was worth saving-the building was beautiful(from the turn of the 20th century)...now a memory...now a parking lot...

:hug:back at ya!

3. Lovely opening, Wovenpaint!
Thanks! :hug:

I have three "surprise" bleeding heart plants in my front flower bed too! I had planted them last year, which was a terribly soggy summer, so they didn't do well. Then, in July, the housepainter trampled them flat (the eedjit). I was FURIOUS (he said "I thought it was all weeds..." :grr: ) but he agreed to replace a broken board on the front of the garage in compensation. Never did it. :grr: again.

So it was a nice surprise to see the bleeding hearts return! It's kind of a :P to the eedjit painter.
:rofl:

Happy Beltane, all! :hi: :grouphug:

5. I am requesting prayer and light energy...
Edited on Sun May-02-10 12:17 AM by JanusAscending
for my lungs. I have a severe case of bronchitis....bordering on pneumonia. Dr. put me on antibiotics that caused an allergic reaction in my leg muscles. They have become so weak I can barely walk. He's sending me to a pulmanologist, because I can't get the breathing tube up over 240, even after an albuterol treatment in the office. I will be going on prednisone this week for 10 days to see if it helps. We can't find anything strong enough to get the thick mucous out my my bronchial tubes.
I lost another 5 lbs. this week!! Now I suppose the steroids will cause me to put the weight back on. I'm just so sick of the whole thing at this point! I quit smoking...lost weight, and still my body is becoming my worst enemy!! Aging SUCKS!! So much for the GOLDEN YEARS!!

14. Dear friend diagnosed with prostate cancer
Just got the results of his biopsy yesterday. Very aggressive type. He is going in for a cat scan today to see if it has spread to other organs. Not feeling very optimistic, any positive thoughts would help. His name begins with a T. He is a dear beautiful hearted man, devoted Democrat and animal lover. Just devastating.

Thanks to early detection it was caught in time. Now he is going to take part in an experimental study with a promising treatment, but whether or not it works will still be getting his prostate removed (prereq for the study). Minor inconvenience though compared to the alternative...

Thank you again so much, this place is such a healing, peaceful respite.

15. The son of a dear friend of mine.
Westly is 63, was just diagnosed at the VA hospital in Temple TX. Big bumps on his neck that looked like moles are some kind of lymphoma. He also has diabetes and a gangrenous toe they are trying to save. He checked out today and is driving to stay with his momma (who I have adopted as "Mom" since my folks are gone now). She is almost 80 and good as gold. She used to be my grandma's maid. He's starting chemo tomorrow.

"Mom" has been a foster parent for decades but Westly is her only natural child. Westly's son, Kevin, is also diabetic and has some serious problems from that developing.

Asking for healing light and prayers for the whole family.

I saw Westly and his momma today for Mother's Day. He's started treatment, feeling better, gotten the toe under control, with circulation restored, blood clot in his leg dissolved, and this week they will get a better picture of what he has and the prognosis.

Blessings to all!!

24. Easy resolution to Teacher problem with my son
Youngest has had a helluva school year and the teacher finally crossed the line yesterday, made me feel like a bad mom....
She is negative and makes him the bad kid and is humiliating him in class and then wonders why he acts out... ugh!

He has been through alot the little guy. Lost a twin in utero, abused in utero, born with PTSD and has had cognitive-speech-behavior issues his whole life. Last year the teacher worked with me, this one is the one who said "Just fix your kid, get him on meds..."
We did start some ADHD stuff against my holistic judgement, but it has helped alot in his academics and focus too.

but the teacher still has him pigeonholed and does nothing but tell me how awful he is...

poor kid

i sent a strongly worded letter to the teacher and the principal and kept him home today away from the bitch

28. we'll see
there's much more to it, but I didn't want to post the whole letter here...

I hope this goes on the reord as a strike against the teacher and that we get some respect. I did include some words about our situation so that I can claim discrimination if it comes to that. The principal of our school just happens to be the superintendent too, so I hope that will make things happen faster.

I also made some bullet points in the beginning of the letter as action items I want to see happen before I bring my son back to school: OR ELSE

• I am keeping Devin home today and possibly Monday until I have some correspondence that this letter has been received and some sort of action taken.
• After State Testing is finished, I would like to request that Devin be allowed to finish the year with Mrs. Dill or I will look into home study options to complete the year. I would hope that State Testing would complete his academic needs for the year.
• I want to have communication with his second grade teacher before the end of this school year to discuss my/our summer goals for him. In the fall I hope to correspond with this teacher prior to class to give an update. I would also like to request that he be placed with Mrs. Miller, and that Mrs. Aaron’s negative comments be kept to a minimum. I refuse to have my son pigeon-holed as a ‘problem student’ – especially when his academic progress is nothing short of amazing for what he’s had to deal with this year.

~~~~Momma's playing hardball, I already got the contacts for the next in the chain of command too...all the way to state school board. Dont wanna go that far, just want some peace and to stop the bitch from making ME apologize for my kid every time I see her...because he is not a bad kid!!
29. I'm sorry to hear this
Have you met and spoken directly with the principal about your son's situation? That could the next step and would be beneficial to have another viewpoint at the school.
Is it too late to put him in another class until summer? I know how hard may seem to overcome negative comments from a teacher, I went through it with my daughter. She's a math whiz that had the joy of it stomped out for her by a negative teacher.:mad:
Sending you supportive vibes for the best resolution for all involved.:hug:
30. Merc ret got my laptop!! :( :( :( :(
Prayers for my 'puter buddy/right arm, please! A freak splash of water hit the keyboard yesterday, and it's not looking good. Letting it dry out till tomorrow and then will check it, but I'm not holding out much hope. Best-case scenario, according to Mr. MG--the motherboard might be fried but the hard drive might be okay. I could deal with that outcome, even though it would separate me from money I don't have to replace the motherboard--if only I could save my photos, iTunes, and novel (most of it is housed elsewhere, but the very latest version with "what happens next" notes is still on my laptop).
In the meantime, I'll be online sporadically, using my old (SLOW) iBoob and my iPod Touch. When I'm not...you know... :cry:
37. Laptop update: It's not looking good
Mr. MG tried to boot it up last night, and while the computer functions, it can't find the hard drive. Apparently the little bit of water that spilled on the keyboard hit the hard drive EXACTLY and likely fried it. Mr. MG pulled the hard drive so it can dry out some more over the next day or two (while Mercury goes direct--that's not lost on me! ;) ) and in the meantime I will pray pray pray.
In my darker moments when I doubt the power of miracles, I try to come to terms with losing all my photos since October (the last time I backed up my iPhoto), correspondence, and all my work documents. Don't want to think about having to re-establish my address book. And REALLY don't want to think about the notes I lost for my novel (and the several pages I wrote before my last upload to Google Docs). Wondering what the lesson is here...or hey, sometimes shit happens? :shrug:
41. For my mom and dad
Edited on Wed May-12-10 10:51 AM by Brewman_Jax
Dad is still in the nursing home. The post-op check on the repaired leg and hip show progress. He is starting some upper body physical therapy, hopefully soon the leg can bear weight and that physical therapy can get started.
Mom is having do so much around the house and paying bills (stuff that she got tired of fighting over for years, so it was easier to hide under the desk and not care--but that's a story for another day) and having so few steps available any given day because of her knees (severely arthritic) makes tasks and motivation that much harder. My brothers have shown improvement, which is good, but that's not a very high bar to begin with.
Your good thoughts are greatly appreciated.
P.S. The cat has been on guard duty and is the only one that we don't have to worry about.
47. Ooh, Muriel.
OK - you've scolded & chastised yourself enough - now let's focus on your strength to say no to the addiction of nicotine.
I add my strength to your strength to get you through this.
I think, perhaps, you should let the cold work its way through you in the most natural way possible. See it carrying your addiction away. Say goodbye to nicotine.
If you have a health food store around, there was a remedy I used twenty-two years ago when I quit that helped a lot. Indian Tobacco. Tasted horrible, but it sure did ease the cravings. Took me two bottles, over the course of days, but it made a world of difference.
I know you are strong enough to do this. :hug:
49. I want to go to my writing conference
It's the last week of July. The hotel it was originally in is part of the Grand Old Opry in Nashville; it flooded, and now the conference is in Orlando. EVERYTHING is more expensive.
This is what I need to go:
I have frequent flyer miles, but the airline in question doubled their FF requirements during the months of July and August. I am writing a letter to the president of the airline to ask if he will grant me a round-trip ticket at the original mileage requirement. (You don't get unless you ask...)
I need a roommate. The hotel's expensive. I need a friendly, easygoing, fun roommate.
I don't want to pay the registration fee until I have both of the above, because canceling after July 1 means I lose the entire amount.
Mostly, if it's not going to happen this time, let me be gracious and realize it just wasn't in the plans.
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers,
Julie
53. Thanks, Wovenpaint!
I'm not sure what I could offer in return to those who chipped in, but it's a great idea. I'll definitely pass it on!
Thank you again for the suggestion!
54. A sad week
A long-time rennie died suddenly of a heart attack middle of last week and my tailor's husband lost a long-term battle with cancer over the weekend. The tears are starting again since I don't have the renfest for distraction. :cry:
Please hold a good thoughts for them and their families.
57. Prayers for my husband and myself.
(figured it out)
We've separated. I'm still reeling - he asked for it - though I had brought up the subject up a few weeks ago. I think I'm in better shape for this than he is, so I ask for light to be sent in his direction. He had a terrible childhood filled with unending abuse at the hands of his father (and teachers too), and he was alternately vilified for you-name-it, and lionized for his musical talent; a confusing abuse situation bound to give anyone serious issues. But he's been directing his rage at me for years now, and I think I'm dealing with a narcissist, which causes me even deeper concern for his spiritual wellness.
Please send them his way, and to me as well, as I no longer trust his word or know what I can expect from him.
love
Dora
61. Oh, Dora. I'm sorry.
I will send lots of light to your family. But a narcissistic personality is a dangerous thing. I hope you can get an attorney ASAP.
67. This prayer is for the whales.
Whales must have enough krill.
Krill live in arctic waters, which seem to be warming too much for them to thrive.
May our whales have enough krill this year, and the next, and the next, and the next. Amen.
68. Please send some Light and good thoughts.
I had a phone-interview last week and will likely get an in-person interview sometime this week. I was disappointed with the likely wage, and said as much to my gf. Now she's upset with me for not staying positive, and I'm depressed again from the things said.
I'll likely take the position if offered. I just don't know what the pay will be as yet. It's all guesswork at the moment, even from the contractor that found the position.
Thanks for whatever y'all can do...
69. Requesting insight, or something
There's this guy I know, haven't seen him or thought about him much in 9 years.
Suddenly can't stop thinking about him. I even walked by his house (unless he's moved away) but just couldn't knock on the door - I don't know what to say besides "I miss you" and I'm scared he'll ask me whether I'm employed - either I have to lie to him, which I suck at, or admit I haven't had a job in 7 years. If I do that, there's a good chance he'll abruptly be "busybusybusy" and I'll never see him again, and I just can't deal with that. I thought of writing a letter, but the prospect of days, weeks, months going by with no reply is even worse.
I'm seriously losing my goddamn mind. (Again.) I'll probably just hunker down until it passes, but I wish I knew what the hell is going on here.
Peace, LV
