A little OT, but I sent out some of my writing to a lit journal today.

I'm so proud of me. I haven't submitted anywhere since 2005. Though acceptance is a major long shot with this magazine, I am still happy I did it. Wish me luck.

5. Yeah, here's to engaged readers. When I was a reader, I sometimes had to

have extra coffee to wake my brain up enough to engage with the manuscripts (it was a national quarterly with a high volume of submissions). So, here's to Starbucks! For the record, though, I'm realistic, as, like most writers I know, 98% of what I send out gets rejected (it's just how it is).

From one writer to another, congrats on submitting your pieces! :toast: I know what a huge step that can be. I'm researching publishers for my novel right now (even though it's only half done--hee) and it can be downright scary to "put your stuff out there" for others to...well, essentially, judge.
