Anyone know of a good disnfectant that's pet safe?
My beagle has a nasty upper respiratory infection. She's been sneezing and coughing something awful. She's been to the vet, and is on clindamycin and chlorpheniramine. But I'm concerned about her having sneezed and coughed her germs all over her doggy bed, and well, everywhere else. I want to kill these germs, as well as the ones inside her. I don't her to become re-infected, or for anyone else in the family to catch this. I've been told that Lysol is toxic to cats (I have three), so I'm trying to find something to use on her dog beds and crates that is non-toxic. I don't use a lot of antibacterial products, and won't just keep using one forever. But disinfecting what is essentially a sick room seems reasonable to me. I just don't know what to use without causing more troubles.

Any thoughts?

1. I think Clorox just came out with some pet safe products.
It may be worth checking out

2. 1 part bleach mixed with 10 parts
water in a spray bottle is a safe, effective germ killer for hard surfaces. Let air dry. For the bedding and soft stuff, can you wash it? That would be the best way to get the germs off them.

3. We use something called Odo-Ban at the shelter.
I am not sure that is exactly how it is spelled. It's not just for odors. It is also a disinfectant.

4. You got the spelling right.
We buy it by the case. Unfortunately there are only 2 sources for it that we've been able to find...Sam's and Home Depot online. We take the lesser of the 2 evils and buy from HD.
