Anybody here use Dragon Naturally Speaking 8.0?

1. i've tried a much older version ...

it must have been around version 3 or so ... it worked pretty well back then ... i imagine it's much better now ...

I used DNS around the early to mid-nineties. It was a bit of a pain, but usable. Most reviewers are raving about the latest "preferred" version on amazon.com, stating that it is 99% accurate and works in any application, i.e., E-mail.

Version 8.0 will also scan whatever directories/files you tell it to add words and look at your writing style. I'm a fast typist, but I remember enjoying just kicking back in my chair and dictating. I also liked for nerdy reasons. "Wow, cool." ;)

3. We actually use it here at work

8.0 has been the best version so far. We have had no problems with this version as opposed to nearly all of the previous versions.

I like it and would recommend it. I don't know about 9.0 yet, I haven't heard.
