Anybody ever rented an air card?
http://daypasswireless.com/index.php

I'm going to Branson for a family wedding and reunion/vacation in June and we're staying at the lake for the first week. I want to take my laptop in case I'm needed for business and to pay my bills while I'm gone, etc.

I found the link above. Verizon gets the best signal there and the resort wireless won't reach our cabin; it's pretty much just at the office.

Any suggestions, web sites, etc?

1. Look hard for fine print in the contract: overage charges might be a killer
(I really want to say: leave the effin laptop at home and meditate lots on the following Zen koan "F. U. I'm on vacation")

2. I know ...
but it's my company so "vacation" isn't always vacation, KWIM? Thanks for the response.

3. I never rented, but there is a monthly charge. I got Verizon a few
years ago. That way you need no wi fi, and you have a secure connection. It will only work where cell phones work, which is almost just about everywhere, but not quite exactly everywhere.
I think there is a minimum of 1 year or something, or they charge a disconnect fee of $150 (I'm guessing).
Mine is the same price nationwide, good for traveling the usa.

4. I only need it for a couple of weeks...
I live in the desert surrounded on three sides by buttes so I can't get wireless here at my home (not even a cell for my cell phones). No access to cable or DSL so I have satellite internet. No choices except dialup.

I just need it for my trip and found this company that rents wireless cards by the day. I won't be downloading movies or streaming video with it; just checking email and paying some bills online.

I looked at their usage info and I shouldn't have any problems.
