Some of the firefox plugins are pretty cool, however, so I'll occasionally use that too.
I've always used Opera on my Windows machines because it is faster than anything else and not fussy about what sort of machine or Windows configuration it is installed on. I'm currently using it on a Linux machine.
I've never really used Netscape, Mozilla, or Internet Explorer. I grew up in a slow connection text-only world so I transitioned from text browsers like Lynx directly to Opera. In a world of 14K modem connections one of Opera's best features was that you could very easily switch image rendering on and off, mid-stream if you wanted to, yet pages still rendered in a very usable way. It still has that feature, which is especially useful for viewing huge image laden DU threads on an overloaded public wireless connection.
I don't think there is any reason not to install Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome on your computer and see which one you like best. It may be a personal quirk, but I loathe Internet Explorer. I never use IE, and usually set it's security levels as high as possible which makes it pretty useless as an ordinary browser.
