1. I'm not a pickle juice drinker but
for those who are, apparently you can make your own:

2. That could hit the spot on a hot day.
Especially if one has been out working, and getting really, really sweaty. I dare say it might taste better than Gatorade.

6. I think I'd go for the switchel, personally
Make it with cider vinegar or white wine vinegar and add lots of sugar and it's incredibly refreshing, like lemonade is.

Pickle juice is too salty for me.

Just taste it until it tastes right to you and you'll have your own family recipe for the stuff.

4. I've heard they have Pickle flavored Potato Chips
I think that would be an interesting chaser.

5. among other flavors
take a trip to Canada sometime and check out the dill pickle and the ketchup flavoured chips (the former are ok-ish, the latter are vile). I've seen roast beef and barbecued chicken flavoured ones in Britain.

The US is falling way behind in potato chip technology!

7. OK now I get it
It took me a few days, but now I get it.

I've been playing with my blood sugar (I'm not diabetic but it does run in my family and my fasting glucose has been creeping up the past few years) and a glucometer, just because it's something I've never paid any attention to ever.

So, I've been checking my blood sugar before and after various foods, just to see what's happening.

Well, it turns out that pickles do indeed lower blood sugar, at least in my experience. Well, it's the vinegar of course, but since I love pickles, this could be a good thing to know about.

The highest blood sugar I've recorded so far has been after a bowl of oatmeal (with brown sugar and milk, of course), which I had read would happen. I need to try the same with steel cut oats though.

Anyway, I'm so glad to find out that pickles can play an important role in health.
