May I recommend the Spice House?

I ran into this shop while in Milwaukee once. Oh, the aroma of the store!! Heaven. They have locations in Evanston and Chicago as well but I use their mail order service, because I cannot live without their

"Exquisitely sweet" Hungarian paprika..."The finest paprika in the whole wide world!" (Mr McD reminded me of it in his goulash thread!

Back of the Yards Garlic Pepper Butcher's Rub

and Greektown "Billygoat" seasoning for marinading Shis-kebab, making a gyros sauce, or as I do, add olive oil and lemon juice and use it as a baste for BBQ chicken.

While I am at it, I have them toss in a few boxes of Maldon sea salt

which is unequaled for taste.

(OK can you tell I like this place?)

Finally, they have intriguing gifts that I like to give for holidays or hostess gifts, such as their "Exotic Sea Salts Gift Box", "Coffee spices gift box", "4 Asian flavors Gift box"...

OK I'll stop :) Take a look at their website and drool!

2. Don't forget McNess blends!!
Their Vidalia Onion Salt is incomparable, and their Madagascar Vanilla is the best I've found. They're regional, Midwest, but they ship everywhere.
