a baking question -- Nutella cookies
Before I go wasting a jar of Nutella I thought I'd run it by you all -- Do you think it would turn out okay if I used a peanut butter cookie recipe but replaced the peanut butter with Nutella? Can you think of any other adjustments I'd need to make to result in a yummy chocolaty/hazelnutty cookie?

They have such a different consistency, I wonder if you'd need to add something to make up for the missing peanut oil...

Turns out the Nutella easily replaced the peanut butter in texture but not in flavor. I always thought Nutella had a very strong cocoa taste but in cookies it all but disappears. That is not to say these cookies weren't good. Quite the contrary, I had many compliments. They were sweet and chewy but more in a soft shortbread sort of way. The real flavor was a buttery white chocolate taste with a cocoa background but they were delicious.

3. Gianduia brownies
I remember making some fantastic hazelnut brownies from a recipe I found at epicurious.com. It uses nutella and chopped hazelnuts. The only reason I haven't made it much is because keeping nutella in the house inspired dangerous bingeing.

nothing beats bread still warm from the oven smeared with Nutella...

5. You could make some simple thumbprints and add a spoonful of nutella
instead of the jam/chocolate you usually see... or you could make the thumbprints with the nuts (the ones that look more like a wreath) with the nutells.

Sounds yummy!
