Vick offered plea deal recommending at least a year in prison
Federal prosecutors have offered Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick a plea deal that would recommend he serve at least one year in prison on a felony dogfighting conspiracy charge, according to two sources familiar with the discussions.

Vick has until 9 a.m. Friday to accept the offer or he could face additional charges when a grand jury convenes next week in U.S. District Court in Richmond, one of the sources said. At least two of Vick's attorneys have been discussing the offer with prosecutors since early this week, the source said.

Keep in mind, if Vick doesn't take the deal, he likely stands further charges of much greater impact on his personal freedom. He'll also have 3 people testifying against him.

Additionally, the pending indictments that may come down Friday or Monday, are charges that will most certainly end his football career.

1. I hope he's a stuborn bastard and turns down the offer.
The more he fights this, the more publicity all of this will generate against the whole idea of dogfighting.

If he ends up spending a long time in jail, well, I wouldn't be upset about that either.

2. He won't unless the NFL says he can't play after the plea bargain
If the NFL okays it, he'll plead. If not, I still think that he will. He's guilty and he knows it. He'd be a fool, especially with 3 folks so deeply involved testifying against him.

3. I start to get incoherent when talking about this subject, so I'll.....
...keep it short: I hope he goes to prison.

4. So what would you say the odds are he'll take a deal?
Sounds like it would be the smart thing to do, but being a dumbass got him in this situation so...

5. Odds on taking the deal?
Right now, if Vegas doesn't have this at 98%, they are idiots. He's a dead man if he doesn't. No career, no freedom, no nothing.

He got himself into this, but now he has lawyers (check: reality) advising him on this now.
