Wild Oats boycotts Canadian fish to save seals!

opposing canadian seal hunting

Wild Oats Markets prides itself on offering the highest quality seafood. From boat to plate, we go through great lengths to bring consumers the freshest, best seafood available, whether it is a local catch or an exotic item from overseas.

Our industry-leading product standards also take animal welfare into consideration. When we learned of the planned seal hunts in Canada, we made the commitment to discontinue any wild seafood purchased from the areas where the brutal seal clubbing is taking place until the fishermen commit to discontinue this practice. Any seafood purchased from that region of Canada has been replaced with another high-quality product from a different source. All of the seafood sold at Wild Oats is labeled by country of origin, so you can rest assured that when you shop at Wild Oats, you will not be purchasing seafood from the fishermen who participate in this cruel activity.

I would have had better returns from Whole Foods but, like you, I am an AFSCME member and did not care for WF's anti-union practices.

Now, if only Wild Oats would open a store in Madison!
