5. I don't think the wheel design lends itself to high speeds.
Some car companies have experimented with self parking cars.
But I don't think any of them are ready for prime time yet.
Google "self parking cars" to see some videos.

4. Having driven a lot of forklift I must say that is way cool.
I'd hate to see how much it costs, but whoever designed it certainly deserves the money that will made from it.

6. I've driven a few myself and the thing that stands out is the safety
aspect. I've seen a few accidents while trying to get a long
object through a normal size doorway.

8. That is most excellent, and should revolutionize materials handling.
Narrower aisles in warehouses will allow for more storage. The turning radius a amazing, and the place in the video where it moved a 40' beam through a 10' door should sell anyone on this concept. I worked a couple of years as a warehouseman, and would have loved such a tool.

Wow!

10. One of those forklifts appeared in the new Star Trek movie.
When the cadets were getting their ship assignments.

I've driven many a forklift too. I'd love to give one of those a try.

13. Neat, and good on levels. Can it handle slopes?
Seems that the multipart wheels might freewheel on hill or ramp?

15. The video claims better traction, but I'm not sure how. Possibly computer control.
Obviously the area of wheel touching ground at any one time is going to be less than a solid wheel, *however* if the computer control has a traction sensor in it, it could compensate and definitely provide better traction.

18. I was thinking...
that the smaller wheels (the wheels on the outside of the wheels?) seem to be freewheeling.

If not, I'd guess they must have an internal braking system. That would keep them from freewheeling down a slope, but adds a bunch of bits to break and cause maintenance hassles.

Hmmm.

20. maintenance hassles - um yeah - a whole new meaning to "changing a tire"
.
.
.

I noticed a pretty good scrubbing action on those tapered rubbers -

wonder how long it is between "tire renewal"?

Changing all those tapered rubbers - looks like an all day job

HOWEVER

its maneuverability is amazing

16. Sweet
As a regular user of warehouse forklifts there are times when this would be useful. Not so much for what I do, but we do have to move some long tubes or pallets of sheet steel down a narrow aisle on a regular basis.
