Thai School Gives Trans Students Own Bathroom

(Bangkok) For trans teens at one rural high school in Thailand, taking a bathroom break no longer means choosing between male and female' restrooms. There's now a "transgender toilet.''

The Kampang School in northeastern Thailand conducted a survey last term that showed more than 200 of the school's 2,600 students considered themselves transgender, said school director Sitisak Sumontha.

So, when classes resumed in May, the school unveiled a unisex restroom designated by a human figure split in half - part man in blue and part woman in red. Below it are the words "Transgender Toilet.''

Three transgender students praised the new restroom as they plucked their eyebrows and applied face powder in front of the mirror outside the stalls.

2. i say this partly in jest and partly not

but i almost wished we just had queer bathrooms. first of all a lot of us are less offended if you are fucking in the bathroom, but thats not really my main reason. i just think gender queer people would be much more comfortable. i dont care if gay boys are in the same bathroom as me, but i think butch girls make straight girls unconfortable. and i feel really bad for femme boys who are stuck using the bathroom with bullying frat boys.

Though I bet queer boys would squee just as much as the chicks in the women's bathroom when I come out and rinse out my sea sponge in the sink. Haha.
