Teens Charged In Brutal Assault On Gay HS Student

Two teenagers have been charged with assault in the beating of a high school student that left him with a broken nose.

But as many as a dozen others who allegedly took part in the attack have not been identified and students at Bridgeport's Central High School say the school is doing little to protect LGBT students.

Joseph Preston's mother, Kim Jones, says the attack on her son has left him fearful of returning to class.

Jones labeled the beating a "hate crime" but the principal of the school, Dudley Orr tells The Post newspaper he isn't sure if the beating was bias or a disagreement.

I don't like the idea of prison for kids, but something needs to be done to make sure they don't ever do this again.

As long as the principal refuses to take this seriously nothing is going to improve.
