Church program won't care for woman who once was a man

A fine illustration of the inherent problems with depending on faith based social programs to provide a safety net.

Church program won't care for woman who once was a man....

As far as the Rev. John Maxfield could tell, everything was fine between his church and Anoka County until that Friday the 13th.
The county social services department was sending disabled seniors and other vulnerable adults needing care during the day to Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Francis. Trinity's members were bringing in hot dishes for lunch.

Then the county brought another client to the conservative Missouri Synod church: a woman who had begun life as a man.

The church refused to let her in. The county refused to send any more clients.

2. Real Christian love, there.
Not a place where Jesus would have wanted to eat, either.

5. The trans client disclosed the information.
At first glance, it looks like the county did everything right re: confidentiality. I applaud their decision to stop sending clients to this church.

Can anyone here believe that the church is denying her FOOD and other critical services! They say it's because trans is a state of being which is "contrary to God's revealed will." Isn't the denial of food to those in need a heretical belief system? Gads, people like this make me crazy.

And they have the nerve to call my "agenda" immoral? Hah!

4. Their new bible says:
"Thou shallt not associate with anyone different from you" Really do you think they even know what the bible says, outside of a couple of passages taken entirely out of context.

Al Franken said that if cut out all the passages about serving the poor and people different from you, you have a good box for Rush Limpballs to hide his drugs.

6. Christianity rears its ugly head
One of the "mainstream" Prot churches, too. There is a special place in hell for false prophets. (preaching "the word" of christ, while practicing heresy)

7. Missouri Synod doesn't qualify as mainstream
Lutheran at all. They're very conservative

The Wisconsin Synod is worse. Last I knew, they didn't let women vote on church matters.

But then I was raised in the UCC.
So when new people come to church
I think about slaying the fatted calf.

9. Fuck this church and its financial woes....

They're $30,000 in the hole because the county won't send them any more clients. GOOD.

I'm JEWISH and even I know the parable about Christ treating a prostitute with dignity. Did these so-called Christians miss that in their bible study classes or what? (NOTE: I am not equating transgender people with prostitutes, so hold the flames please. I think it's clear the point I am trying to make)

And these people have the unmitigated gall to call themselves Christian. HAH!
