3. I finally saw it last night
I just love documentaries and this one was well done. What surprised me was that I had always thought White killed Milk because he was gay, not because of politics. One of those interviewed in the movie said the jury would have found White guilty of murder if just the mayor had been shot and killed, but Harvey's sexual orientation gave them an out for a lesser charge.

5. Quotes like that should be shouted.
Lesser justice just because one of the victims was one of us. It was mostly okay with them to attack us. x(

I hope those jurors are disgusted for having thought that way and for having used homophobia to justify a lesser punishment for multiple murders. I hope they grew up and became disgusted with their decisions.

7. Just finished watching it
great but sad film. Even after watching Milk I had forgotten how close in time the Prop 6 victory was to his assassination. He didn't even get a full month to enjoy his victory.

8. his assassination was 9 days after the People's Temple
in Jonestown mass suicide. San Francisco was reeling from both events.

9. Yeah and that hadn't even been mentioned in Milk
It had to have been a horrible time for all San Fransciscians.

10. before i wrote my post above i checked both dates and the
Jonestown thing happened on november 18th and the Milk assassination happened on november 27th. I just re-watched the documentary linked above last night and it was mentioned in it. I saw Milk a few weeks back but don't recall it being mentioned either.

13. Thanks for this site
My partner and I went to see "Milk" the other night and just watched this documentary. Imagine what might have been if Harvey Milk were still with us.
