To be filed against the defendant(s) in the event of a favorable ruling re: the CA Supreme Court brief which seeks to invalidate all same-sex marriages performed in California (estimated: 18,000). Plaintiffs suing for monetary losses and the pain and suffering resulting from early and involuntary termination of the contract of their marriage, est. {Month, date,} 2008 in the County of _______, CA. Plaintiffs seek the following damages:
--Unrecoverable costs associated with the marriage ceremony. --Legal fees associated with the dissolution of their marriage. --Administrative costs to notify friends, relatives, and associates of the change in legal status of their union (mailings, postage, telephone services, etc.) --Loss of property in the return of wedding gifts --Pain and suffering resulting from the involuntary termination of their marriage and the subsequent emotional, psychological and social trauma suffered by the plaintiffs and their family.
