http://blog.wired.com/cars/2009/03/the-past-is-pre.html

If you read this article---the picture of the little car is cool, reminscent
of the first car Mercedes made, the 1886 "Motorwagen"--when you
get to the 4th paragraph, you will read the following statement about the German dual education system:

"The F-Cell is as much a testament to German engineering as it is to the German dual education system in which students attending vocational school work as apprentices. They rarely hear you're fired -- most apprenticeships lead to jobs. In the case of the F-Cell, the apprentices came from such diverse fields as automotive mechatronics, model building, electronics, coating technology, manufacturing mechanics, product design and interior appointments. Creating the F-Cell concept gave 150 apprentices experience with alt-fuel tech."

1. We need to return to offering technical training and apprenticeships
associated with that training in our high schools. Apprenticeships prepare German young people for self-sufficient lives and insure quality in services, engineering and the business professions. We need to look to their system.

2. Mr. AAL graduated from high school as a licensed electrician
That was in eastern PA. Nothing like that happens here in central IN. I wish vo-tech programs were offered nationally. It would help our economic situation a lot.
