Small growers taken down by large corperations ?
Edited on Sat Jun-05-10 08:27 AM by NikRik
If the vote in November to leagalize pot wins,I have heard that the small growers will all but become a thing of the past?I even know a someone that grows a small amount of pot and sells it to the medicial pot distributors in Ca. and they say they are actually voting against legalazation. Once again the large corperations will bulldoz their way in and shut down those who make a humble income by growing pot. Then of course you will have the goverment control, with all of the fees and regulations that must be folowed to the tee in order to grow a small scale growing operation ! Please I would like to hear others opinion on this subject !
Thanks NiKRik

3. what about corporations adding
synthetic chemicals or substances with addictive properties? I always wondered about that, its such a scary thought.

4. I don't think so
Think of the small growers as the micro-breweries of the pot world. Especially those in Mendocino and Humboldt counties they already have the name recognition of being part of the Emerald Triangle and growing 'Humboldt Homegrown'. I think most growers are against legalization because it will probably mean prices will come down and they will have to get licensed and pay taxes. A lot of those people moved to hills to get away from the work a day world and see this being encroached on. The other possiblity is that if they don't mind working for a corporation or as a consultant these long time growers could become the master brewers (to continue with the beer analogy) for the corporations. Personally I want the job as what would be the equivalent of a taster in a brewery.

5. Wrong.
This is pure propaganda. I do like the fact that you are asking questions, but the small growers, the small reductioneers, they will always be around.

Also, we should look beyond the economy of legalization. We now have Brothers and Sisters in Cannabis in prison in Cali for doing nothing more than smoking pot and this has got to be the major concern.

6. Don't expect the corporations to takeover yet...
Pot will still be illegal under federal law. No mega corp is going to risk taunting the DEA with a huge growing and distribution operation.
