World's Longest Footrace

A man runs along a sidewalk in the Queens section of New York City, July 27,2006, as he takes part in the longest footrace in the world. The 3,100 mile race, now in its 10th year with 15 participants, is run around one city block in Queens for two months straight where athletes lap their block more than 5,000 times. The 52 day event run from 6am to midnight each day is sponsored by followers of meditation master Sri Chinmoy who teaches his students to excel mentally and physically.
