Just as players returned to team facilities to work out, get playbooks and meet with coaches on Friday, the lockout returned — temporarily.
The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals granted the NFL a temporary stay of the lockout injunction. Yahoo! Sports' Michael Silver reported early Friday that the players expected the stay, and it would be of the "administrative" variety, meaning the lockout is back in force until Monday at the earliest.
"The purpose of this administrative stay is to give the court sufficient opportunity to consider the merits of the motion for a stay pending appeal," the U.S. Court of Appeals wrote.
