Stanford rolls over Cal 48-14..
The most lopsided win in the Big Game in 80 years..

Is there a better one loss team in the country than the Cardinal?

Is there a better QB in the country than Andrew Luck?

Is there a better top two teams in any conference in the country than the Pac-10's Oregon and Stanford?

1. Is there a better 10-win team in the Alamo Bowl than Stanford?
Dear holy FSM, let's hope not. :scared:

Why does the Pac-10-->12 have such shitty bowl tie-ins?!

5. All about money..
the Alamo Bowl is offering it's participants more than say the Holiday Bowl, where I believe the Pac-10's third place team goes. Thing is, if I were Stanford I'd much rather play in San Diego as opposed to San Antonio. There are still a couple scenarios in which they can get in a BCS bowl..they sure deserve one.

7. Unless they changed things
#1 Rose (Unless in NC), #2 Holiday, #3 Sun Bowl-in El Paso.

The bowls they get are not high profile but they get tough match-ups usually. The Pac 10 team in the Las Vegas Bowl usually has to face the MWC Champ (unless the MWC team is playing in a BCS game)

8. The Rose is screwed up by the "party crashers"
it has to take TCU or Boise (whichever is ranked higher) if, as seems likely at this point, it doesn't get into The Show.

9. They changed things..
The Valero Alamo Bowl has announced an agreement to bring in the No. 2 team from the Pac-10 starting with the 2010 season.

The four-season deal will pay the Pac-10 at least $3 million per year to move from its current agreement with the Holiday Bowl in San Diego

4. That's what it's been called for over 100 years..
And of course it was the scene of possibly the most famous play in college football history when Cal beat John Elway's Stanford team on the final play in 1982..

I see where the Ohio State/Michigan contest is known only as The Game. Not attaching "Big" to that event is no doubt appropriate..as it has lost quite a bit of it's luster..

3. That's why it's high comedy Auburn thinks it can sneak back in with a loss
If Alabama beats Auburn, teams like Stanford, Wisconsin and Ohio State are going to jump Auburn in the human polls. Maybe not all of them, but it won't be none of them.

Cal had nothing left after the Oregon struggle. If you risk an effort like that against a top echelon opponent, you're advised to win it. Devastating defeat attaches to the following week.

6. Gotta give Stanford credit
Cal is tough at home and for them to be able to get by them like that is impressive.
