Group H: Chile-Spain *** Switzerland-Honduras
These are the final first round games and they should be excellent. All four teams have the chance to go through, which means Spain might not make it with a loss. Chile and Spain have been playing great. That should be quite a match. Honduras has been terrible. If Spain and Switzerland win, there's a 3 way tie for 2 spots. The first round is going to go out in style.

Chile 6 +2
Spain 3 +1
Switzerland 3 0
Honduras 0 -3

Here are the scenarios:

Chile advances with:
(A) Win or tie versus Spain (also wins group)
(B) Loss and Switzerland tie or loss
(C) Loss and Switzerland win and maintain tiebreakers over Switzerland

Spain advances with:
(A) Win versus Chile
(B) Tie and Switzerland tie or loss
(C) Loss and Honduras win and maintain tiebreakers over Switzerland and Honduras

Switzerland advances with:
(A) Win and Spain tie or loss
(B) Win and Spain win and make up tiebreakers on Chile
(C) Tie and Spain loss
(D) Loss and Spain loss and hold tiebreakers over Spain and Honduras

Honduras advances with:
(A) Win and Chile win and make up tiebreakers on Spain and Switzerland

1. Chile - Spain should be orders of magnitude better than Brazil - Portugal was
A co-worker and I were trying to sort out what Spain needs to do in order to top the group. I hate FIFA calculus.

2. Spain depend on themeselves and Switzerland
If they win, they will have a better goal differential than Chile. Then Switzerland needs to not make up the goals on Spain.

4. Some of the players did very very stupid things,
but Spain got away with some howlers.

I enjoyed how the announcers coyly wondered aloud if people watching might get the impression that Spain was being coddled by the refs.
