David Wells is on the DL
Francona just announced it on the pregame show.

I still withhold comment on Wells. I'm not convinced.

5. On the NESN pre-game show, they said he's on the 15 day DL, but...
that he could be out for 4 to 6 weeks.

They just brought Lenny DiNardo up from Pawtucket, we'll have to see how they eventually decide to fill out the 5-man rotation. Right now they're listing Halama as the fifth starter on their depth roster.

6. Wade Miller is rehabbing
He was due to start up here in Portland over the weekend but the games were rained out. Now he's scheduled to start with the PawSox this week.

8. In the pre-season Francona seemed very hot on Halama, ...
saying that he (Halama) could fill various roles, from starter, to middle relief, to closer, but I don't think he's quite met expectations so far. He may get a chance to prove himself if Miller stays out through the next rotation, which it looks like he will.

7. Saw that...I wonder what Theo was thinking...
...I mean, the guy's not in great shape. Even if he pitches well when he's healthy, I don't think we'll get anything close to a full season out of him.
