Dammit, why don't they show downhill skiing instead of celebrity skiing

I like watching the Alpine ski racing! It takes a lot of skill and it's exciting! Why do I have to watch it on the computer/Universal? Although that means no commercials, lots of German and Italian speech, and no inane blathering... :think:

1. Here in DC, we get Universal on digital cable and I think over the air, too.

It is an NBC station, and our local affiliate offers multiple digital channels.

I like many winter sports, and I love it now that we went for the basic digital cable service.

Maybe you could contact your local NBC affiliate to see if they might offer NBC Universal as a digital service.

I was watching men's downhill as well as the European Championship figure skating (women and dance) last night. I wanted to watch the men's and pairs this afternoon, but either our cable or our NBC affiliate is having some problems with the 2.5 feet of snow we have here.

2. hhmm we have Verizon cable, maybe I'll see if that station is an option

or maybe we have it, and I'm just not aware of it. I would love to see all the downhill and skating...

3. yeah - US TV is bad about showing skiing

I like alpine skiing and ski jumping, and unless it's the Olympics, they hardly show any of it.

I do not care in the least about freestyle.

I miss Eurosport. When I lived in Germany in the early/mid-90s, they had great coverage of skiing.
