Don't Sleep on the Baltimore Orioles
They have a very, very good squad, and they will be in the playoff hunt this season. Miguel Tejada is the best shortstop in baseball right now, and man, can he hit. Their pitching staff is uneven as well as their bullpen, but they will be in the playoff hunt past labor day.

1. nope
Derek Jeter is the best shortstop in baseball as he returns to his 1999 form. Tejada cost his team the game today by misplaying a pop up that he turned into a double. Their pitching is awful and they don't have players who get on base consistently. They were a below average team in terms of on base percentage last year.

2. I Love Jeter, But Tejada Is Better
He's like a mini-Manny Ramirez. He knows how to hit in key situations.

3. no he's not
he has low obp. He hits for power, but Jeter is a better all around player. And no one is more clutch than Jeter. Tejada was so impressive in postseason play for Oakland. He's also pretty horrid defensively. Jeter is a better player and I don't think its really close. Of course, if A-Rod played short, he'd be the best shortstop in the game.

4. A favorite pet theory of mine...
Is that Derek Jeter would be a Gold Glove CF. He's not a great shortstop, as he lacks some range on ground balls, but he's quite possibly the best I've seen at tracking flyballs from the shortstop position, and the arm he shows while making the jump throw in the hole (on the balls he actually does get to) would probably translate well to the outfield.

I could be wrong, of course. :)

5. I completely agree
Jeter would be a great centerfielder. I hope it happens down the road.
