Pastor caught with rock in his crack charged w/3 federal counts
Edited on Fri Jun-26-09 11:52 AM by moobu2

Pastor faces federal counts in crack case

A Fort Wayne pastor arrested on three counts of dealing crack cocaine now faces federal charges.
In a criminal complaint filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Fort Wayne, federal prosecutors charged Curtis White III, 59, of the 4200 block of South Hanna Street, with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
He most recently served as pastor of Divine Faith Baptist Church, 1433 McCulloch St.
White was arrested June 19 after a confidential informant bought crack cocaine from a woman at a Fort Wayne motel. The woman, Beatrice Knox, was charged Thursday in Allen County Superior Court with dealing cocaine.
Police obtained a search warrant for the Pine Haven Motel room where Knox had been seen. Inside they found White, along with bags, crack cocaine and $104 on the bed.
A search of White later revealed he had tucked a bag of crack inside a body cavity, according to court documents.

White had prior convictions for dealing cocaine from the late 1990s.

4. And here we see another problem with the Evangelical/non-denominational churches
Not that the mainlines don't have their occasional idiot/criminal ministers....

But the big difference is that the mainlines have a long, arduous process in place for anyone who believes they are called to pastoral ministry, and there is follow-up after ordination and committees/people watching over them to make sure that things are okay, and so the crazies, psychologically and emotionally unfit, and other problem people are generally weeded out long before they could have any chance of having a church. Those churches also have systems in place in case a congregation is having an issue with a pastor, or that they notice the pastor might have some problems.

The independents, non-denominationals, and most mega-churches have NO system in place for training ministers, NO system for accountability, NO system for discipline. Basically, all it takes some dude (or dudette) to say "I'm a minister" and then start a church. Some might go to some non-accredited "Bible College" where they learn a bunch of useless shit and a heretical theology, but many are just self-proclaimed, and they have no watchdog, except maybe a group of their closest friends, who aren't going to objective. For instance, Rick Warren, that slimy worm-laden piece of garbage, has an "accountability" group that includes his wife and other members of his congregation, and that's it.

What the fuck.

That's why there's so much criminality and fraud in the non-mainlines - most of the pastors are in it for the money, the prestige, or the power, or all of those.

6. It’s a separate theological issue.

It’s about small church organizations, with little oversight vs. larger church organizations with little oversight (until they get caught).

J/K. Actualy why dont you see if the mods will combine the threads..I didnt notice the other one.
