St. Thomas president denounces Ann Coulter's speech as hateful
Fascist Annie spoke at St. Thomas, a college here in the Twin Cities, and while it would have been nicer to see the college president actively protest her appearance, at least he spoke out against it later.

St. Thomas president denounces Ann Coulter's speech as hateful

The president of the University of St. Thomas on Monday condemned a speech at the Catholic school last week by conservative author Ann Coulter, saying "such hateful speech vulgarizes our culture and goes against everything the University of St. Thomas stands for."

The Rev. Dennis Dease wrote in Bulletin Today, a university newsletter, that "although her presentation may have been meant as an 'act' or a 'shtick' to entertain by provoking those who disagree, such behavior unfortunately contributes to the growing dark side of our culture -- a disrespect for persons and their sincerely held beliefs."

1. Of Course
Of Course, this begs the question:

Why does Rev. Dennis Dease hate America?(insert your own cliche)

I like the way he says "such behavior contributes to the growing dark side of our culture". That says a lot, and is oh so very true.

2. Good for him. At some point universities should just stop inviting her.
Having her speak at a college is an embarrassment to any institution, because she does not speak with a conservative viewpoint, but a hate-filled fascist agenda. There is a big difference between the two.

We need more people to say this and quit inviting her to speak.

4. It's usually student activities committees that invite speakers........

and the administration just stays out of it. Free speech for the students and all.....and there are apparently enough students who want to see this screeching sideshow that she keeps getting these gigs.

5. Guckert/Coulter
"Coulter spoke at the university on April 18. She was a guest of the school's chapter of the College Republicans and a student newspaper, the Standard, but neither organization paid her speaking fee. That was covered by the Young America's Foundation, a Herndon, Va., organization that bills itself as an outreach program for conservative youth."

Guckert is connected to Bruce Eberle is connected to Young America Foundation who is paying Coulter's speaking fees.

LOL I thought I'd get you to click on this post. Wouldn't it be AWESOME for her to have the GOP nomination? Of course, that's impossible, but what about some fundie who's just as nuts as she is, like Tom Delay. Imagine how much we'd win by!!

Anyway, I'm happy the Reverend Dennis Dease denounced her.
