It may be noted that Zed issued a boycott call on Friday (June 20) after viewing. The Hindu leader said that many Hindus as well as non-Hindus in the US and Canada, where The Love Guru was released on June 20, have been boycotting the movie.

... various organisations including Hindu Alliance of India, Shri Ramayan Pracharini Sabha, India Heritage Panel, etc are planning protests in India and Australia when the movie releases there in the coming future. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has launched a worldwide protest drive. A Canadian Hindu group is also promoting the worldwide boycott ...

Jewish leader calls for boycott of the movie The Love Guru movie

Washington, May 6 : A prominent Jewish Rabbi has called for boycott of upcoming movie "The Love Guru" ... Rabbi Elizabeth W. Beyer of Nevada, in a statement, said, " 'The Love Guru' lampoons Hinduism, mocks Ashram life and Hindu philosophy. While 'Guru Pitka' states that he endorses no particular religion, the movie clearly portrays him as a guru - religious leader of Hindus" ...

US Conference of Catholic Bishops Review:
"The Love Guru" (Paramount/Spyglass) is a flat comedy, only fitfully enlivened by some clever gags, with Mike Myers as Pitka, an American-born guru loosely inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, spiritual guide to the Beatles in the 1960s ...

... finally, the satirical jibes at celebrity and bogus Indian mysticism wear thin ...

4. Calling for a boycott of the movie is both redundant and unnecessary.
You may as well call for a boycott of watching paint dry.

...but since there is a boycott, I'll have to pass and see something only slightly less highbrow, like Gigli.

11. Kind of like
what the so-called "Israel Lobby" does. They want to make themselves look important, so they tell us to do things like gives boatloads of money to Israel - as if we weren't going to do that anyway. But when their interests and those of our corporate overlords diverge, suddenly they become silent, lest their toothless nature become apparent.
