Should I watch Human Centipede on PPV tonight?
A one—of—a—kind experience that is guaranteed to shock and divide audiences, Dutch filmmaker Tom Six's twisted biological horror film ,"The Human Centipede" confidently goes where few films have dared to go.
...
An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However, his three "patients" are not about to be separated but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric systems. By doing so, he plans to bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy, the human centipede.

I've absolutely LOVED Dieter Laser ever since I saw him on Lexx. I can handle sick and gross if the movie is good. Should I watch it? I can't decide and there's nothing else on TV.

1. I read several reviews and most said it was basically awful.. the acting,
the writing, etc. Not to mention the subject matter.

3. It's Dutch
Not that being a foreign film guarantees quality, but let's say if it were an American film I wouldn't even consider it.

I always do before I buy it. It was godawful. Do not bother. The whole movie is based on that one premise and then flops. Just terrible acting, plot is threadbare. I happen to be a filmmaker and we are shooting a horror movie ourselves, "The Stuart House Recordings". We took almost a year to develop the whole thing..

"The human centipede "feels like they came up with the plot after a night's drinking binge and then wrote the thing in a couple of hours.

2. When I heard that it included
members of the "centipede" having to defecate into the mouth of the one behind them, I said no way am I going to watch that.

4. This is interesting...
From Wikipedia:
The Human Centipede (First Sequence) contains relatively little explicit violence, and much of the disturbing content is implied rather than shown directly
...
When seeking funding for the film, Tom Six pitched the idea of a surgeon who sewed people together, but he did not initially reveal that the victims would be joined mouth-to-anus, fearing that it would put off potential investors. His backers did not learn the exact details of the film until it had been completed. Before signing on, the actors were given an outline of the film's storyboard rather than a complete script.

5. Could it be more disgusting?
Seriously, sounds as much like some weird fetish as a horror movie. But then the buzz starts and the next thing you know we have the sequal, "Human Millipede"

8. there are some seriously sick people...
in this world. i hate horror films of almost any kind, except for those that explore stuff of legends (minus Twilight). stuff like this is just completely messed up and i wonder what sort of mind creates something akin to Human Centipede.

11. OK, yeah I broke down and watched it
Don't judge me.

IF YOU'RE EASILY OFFENDED PLEASE READ NO FURTHER

My biggest gripe with the movie was basically what a waste of a bizarre and novel concept. They could have done so much to make it weird and interesting and surreal but instead it boiled down to the centipede trying to rebel a couple of times and a standoff with some suspicious police and that was it. I don't recommend it. I expected it to be a bit more foreigny but it was an American slasher/horror flick through and through. As such it actually wasn't that gross or violent (except for the concept itself of course). The action happens soon after the surgery so the weird parts are all bandaged up. I'm already on shaky ground with my review so won't post a url to an image but you can find it online if you're curious. The grossest part I thought was where the surgeon pulled out their teeth while they were unconscious during the surgery. Everything else was pretty mild as far as this type of movie goes.

The acting: Wow, it started out bad. Watching the two women have a flat tire on a deserted German highway was painful (and just that sentence alone gives you a clue to the quality of the plot). Talented they are not. Seriously, the dialog and acting was like something out of a cheap porno flick. After a few minutes I was wishing someone would come along and sew their mouths to somebody's anus just to shut them up. Of course later their acting and dialog isn't an issue, thank goodness. OK, I know what you're wondering about most: There is just one brief scene where, um, digestion happens for the first time. It wasn't graphic. The head of the centipede puts his hands together and begs the others, "Forgive me!" I admit it had me laughing. HEY! I said don't judge me!

I'm a big Dieter Laser fan and it was worth it for me to see him in it. He was superb. But everybody else stay away.

OK, I hope this doesn't get me banned or anything.
