'Sopranos' actor withdraws from 'Dancing With the Stars'

Former "Sopranos" regular Vincent Pastore, 60, has withdrawn from the next edition of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" after one week of training.

Pastore decided the physical demands of a 10-week season would be too difficult for him to undertake.

"When I initially committed to joining 'Dancing with the Stars,' I didn't realize just how physically demanding it would be for me," Pastore said in a statement released by ABC. "Unable to put forth my best effort, I felt it appropriate to step aside and give someone else the opportunity."

The fourth edition of "Dancing With the Stars" premieres at 8 p.m. Monday, March 19, on WEWS Channel 5. Producers are expected to announce a replacement for Pastore.

"We're sad that Vincent felt he was unable to continue in the competition, as he would have been great on the show -- but we appreciate him standing aside now rather than having to withdraw later," said executive producer Conrad Green. " 'Dancing with the Stars' is physically demanding and it pays to know your limits. We respect his decision."

1. I object to your thread title.
Have you tried competitive ballroom dancing? Even Jerry Rice commented on how difficult it is.

3. I know it's difficult.
As a martial artist I pretty much know what you can achieve physically. And the amount of work required to achieve it.

Just a play on his character in "The Sopranos"

2. I object to even having this topic in General Discussion.

If I can't post a movie thread in GD or a thread about Anna Nicole Smith, why would a TV thread be allowed? I'm sure these decisions are hard to make, but once they're made, it seems they should be "universal."

Thank you.

7. He doesn't mean anything by it. It's the character's name on the Sopranos.

8. please explain to me how this phrase
"is a big pussy after all"

isn't sexist and offensive as all hell.

Hate language is still hate language, even if you ARE mimicking something you heard on tv. If the N word were used the same way, we'd all see that pretty damn clearly.

"The Big N***** is a big n**** after all." <-- offensive.

6. he whined through Celebrity Fit Club
and threatened to quit at least once. If he couldn't handle THAT, how could he possibly think he was going to handle a dance competition? :eyes:
