Anyone else read "My Sister's Keeper" (m)
I just finished it over the weekend. I thought it was a great book. It brought on some interesting discussions between my husband and I, too.

1. Yes I read it about a year ago
I liked it as well. Quite a twist at the end!

I love Jodi Picoult, all of her books have very interesting ethical dilemmas. By all means read "The Plain Truth" too, about an Amish family. She is very easy to read and laces her books with humor and humanity.

2. I got to meet her
I went to an appearance of hers at a Borders when Perfect Match was coming out. She is wonderful! She read from the book, signed tons of autographs, posed for photos, and was very kind to my daughter who was about 11. She signed a copy of Plain Truth for her and suggested she read that first of all her books.
I got an email from her later, I was impressed.

I haven't read My Sister's Keeper yet, I am in a book study and swamped right now, I will read it asap.

Her books always provoke discussion.

3. Yes, it was a very good book.
I have tried lots of new authors (new to me) since I have become involved on bookcrossing.com
They talk about books and share them by sending them to each other. (althought the main idea is to share books by wild releasing them in public places and then tracking where they end up) Lots of fun if you read a lot!

4. I read it
And I really liked it until the end, which frustrated me so much I wanted to throw the book out the window. I couldn't believe what a cop out it was. And up to then I thought it was really so interesting and thought provoking.

5. My Book Club just read it
and we all loved it. I understand your feeling that the ending could be thought of as a cop-out, but we came to the conclusion that we knew what Anne would have done and that the author meant for us to think what we did. (Don't want to be a spoiler).

Now we are all hooked on Jodi Picoult and are trading back and forth. I just bought Plain Truth and can't wait to start it when I finish the present Lisa Scottoline I'm reading. Anyone else read her?
