Is there a difference? What is a challenge?

1. A challenge might lead to a re-vote
If there are enough violations that barred eligable voters from voting, a vote could be declared legally invalid. A re-vote might have to take place.

However, I haven't heard any case where this actually happened.

3. Under no circumstances would there be a "revote"
It's what we "want" because we suspect that the Constitutional option (a decision by the Congress) would go against us.

But there is no legal provision to say "that vote was rigged... let's do it again" in a Presidential election.

4. A successful challenge could mean no electoral votes are cast...
...from the offending state to either candidate.

6. but then who would win?
a candidate has to have 270 electoral votes to win. it's not 'who wins the MOST' electoral votes, as far as i know
